Chaka Khan...Always There!!

I'm sitting here...working...and online while listening to the radio...

Suddenly...I hear...Chaka Khan...singing 'Always There' a tune I've loved since hearing Incognito's version!

What the fuck? I'm totally floored! So I start searching Google...it took me 10 pages in before I could even get here name to come up with the title and I still saw no mention of which record this is on!

So all enlightened Orgers, I ask you...Where is this from? Which record is it on? I know somebody around here knows...so help a Sista out, please! cool

Wowugotit

It's not on any of Chaka's solo albums or her albums with Rufus. It may have been recorded for another project. Are you sure it was Chaka Khan?

Yeah! I'm certain it was INDEED Chaka!! Where my uncertainty comes in...is which CD or where album it's from?

I've got complete faith in my fellow Orgers...I know...someone knows! I'm just waiting for the piece of the puzzle that I'm obviously missing? confuse

Never heard this done by Chaka unless she was guesting on someone else's track.

Maybe you heard it by a group called...

...Side Effect?

Here's a version by an...

...All-Star band @ the 1999 Montreux Jazz Fetival.

Musicians include...

Rick Braun : Trumpet
Kenny Garrett : Alto Sax
Boney James : Tenor Sax
Kirk Whalum : Tenor Sax
Larry Carlton : Guitar
George Duke : Keyboards

Now that that's cleared up...did I ever tell y'all the story of when I personally had a spotlight dance with Rick Braun in front of a 10000 seat sold out crowd at Detroit's Fox Theatre on Valentine's Day that included several of my ex's with their current girlfriends in attendance? confuse
