Far as I can tell (and I haven't heard tons of his stuff) he's like a British Tom Jones in a way. He's got a great voice when he's doing certain things though. I heard an album of him doing jazz standards and it sounded fantastic!

I think both Better Man and Feel got quite a bit of airplay in the US too.

I've been trying to get into him this year but it ain't happening. 'Ego Has Landed' was decent enough. I bought it for $1. Can't honestly say I would have bought it if it was $2. The rest of his stuff I've either downloaded or gotten from my public library. I like Take That. So I sort of felt obliged to give Robbie a chance. "Rudebox" was dreadful. I don't even recall if I made it through the whole CD. As an American, the Robbie Williams phenomenon seems to be less about his music and more about him being a media personality or the male Madonna; can be very entertaining, has the ability to make a catchy record, can put on a good show, but not especially talented. Not that anyone noticed, but a few years after "Angels" tanked in America, Jessica Simpson covered it. Her version didn't do any better than Robbie's. [Edited 11/15/07 12:24pm]
