That new song is a jam. It has a little purple rain flavor but it's her own song. I never understood why her version of " how come you don't call me anymore" didn't get more airplay. Most people fuck up Prince songs, but I thought she did a good job.

I would like to see her do more prince related Material. If prince isn't gonna jam anymore, he should let somebody else jam his music.

This morning on the radio the DJ said after playing it...
"That was Alicia Keys' new song 'Like You'll Never See Purple Rain Again'...She musta loved that movie!"

I bought it today and just listened to it. It isn't bad at all. I like it a lot. I'm surprised Alicia gets bashed so much on the org. Despite the hip-hop beats, it still sounds very 70s. There's even fake vinyl noise at the beginning and end of the disc.

Actually I do have the CD and after many listens it has grown on me.

Personally, I dont think its as good as her previous CDs but its a solid CD with some standout tracks...

My complete review is coming later on my blog

Am I expecting 2 much when all I want is: Sing in TUNE? Write something oiginal? Play a song that is NOT looped based? Create something is is NOT a rehash of someone else's work?

I think we all want Alicia to really break out and push it further, but I'm listening to a few songs and it's not nearly as bad as I initially thought. I was really skeptical at first, but I will add this CD to my collection.

I'm really liking Tell You Something.

The disk does feel like she's going backwards, but even her going backwards isn't bad at all. I do feel why some are saying that she's doing what she's done already, but I'm lost now because I don't know where her foward movement will be from this point.

This could have possibly been her foward movement if production was better, maybe? I know one thing is for sure, I will be seeing her on tour this time around. Hopefully she spices it up there.

She said this was her best album

She also said she was dating a beautiful woman named Alicia, so shrug

She's saying that for promotional reasons of course. I think younger Alicia would frown upon the older Alicia lol. I still think the CD is good and one of the better commercial CD's of this year.

Ok, it's official. I don't really like the record.eek

I should have saved Tell You Something for last. The bad songs overpower the good songs on here.

cool I will be buying it despite all the negativity read here about the album & her musically. I like Alicia music. She is just as talented & better than most of these so called R&B artist(s) out now. I do not know what some are still expecting from her. She does what she do well. Give me a break with all tha talk about her copying off other artist(s) music. I'll say it again & again "all artist(s) have copied off somebody sound". Some of you seem to feel like she is the only one who does this. They all do it. The only reason i see why she is judged is..... because of all the hype that she got when she first came out. cool
