This is probably my favorite pre-disco episode so far. The Graham Central Station performances were the absolute best. They were just like I like them, hard, wild, and funky.

As I was labeling my disc that I recorded the show on, I noticed that this is my 40th episode I have on DVD. It would be #41 if it weren't for that malfunction with my DVD recorder a few weeks ago with the Kool & The Gang episode that I am absolute sick that I lost. But I don't want to talk about that. Anyway, thanks for the old episodes Don and keep 'em coming hard and funky. And may I ask again, bring on The Barkays!

Yeah. We're taking requests now. But when the first person asks for Shitney Houston or a late 80s episode, the request line will close!

I bought a DVD recorder because of IAintTheONe when he told me the price had gone down. I've always hated tapes, both video and audio, because they wear out and you have all that fast forwarding to do. I'm not against DVDs at all. I'm against the recorders being too damn expensive to afford.

I've taped them all except two, The Teena Marie/Whodini episode and the Barry White Episode. We had a power outage the night of the Teena Marie one and I didn't catch the Barry White one until the last twenty minutes. I've taped all the rest with these five being the ones I go back and watch most:

1.Rick James & SOS Band
2.Brick & Sister Sledge
3.Average White Band
4.Patrice Rushen & Sugar Hill Gang
5.The Time & Patti Labelle

I missed the first two or three episodes because I was looking for the time and channel that it came on. When someone posted on the org that they were showing old episodes, I kept searching for a "Soul Train Classic" or something like that. I never dreamed they were showing the old episodes in the new show's time slot and were showing old episodes instead of new ones. That part made me really happy.

Once I started recording them, I didn't record the Levert, Freddie Jackson, and maybe one or two other late 80s episodes. There was one 70s episode and one early 80s episode that I didn't keep because all the songs were the same for the dancers as some of the other episodes.
