I mean there's so much excitement with seeing him live for the first time in ten years, the jetlag, the fighting for your own standing space and being in that sort of atmosphere is all an incredible adrenaline rush. But when you strip it down and really focus on the show and see it for what it is… well… I’ve enjoyed shows where an artist stood with a band and a microphone and made me feel reborn. I was there in '97 too, but it wasn't until I saw video footage that I really realised how he'd lost it. That was when I said "Oh well, it was great while it lasted". If he could still sing then there could be some hope that he'd recover his soul and get back to the roots. Ditch the tired old routines and just sing, but the voice has gone so that, really, is that. Thank god for this lady. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

But, what about just a live show? Along the lines of his 2001 MSG gigs. That being said, do you guys think he will do any one-off shows in the future? Of course.

Have you ever watched the J5 in Mexico 1975? It was such a simple, small concert. Just Mike, the brothers and a orchestra, they didn't even have a backup group. The dancing was much more simple, Mike was still adjusting to his more matured vocals and there was not a firework in sight, but I would rather watch that again and again than any of the concerts from the Dangerous era onwards.

I think I know the performance but saw it awhile back. I love old J5 stuff. They were so smooth. They already had everything they needed. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

It's not a case of assuming anything. It's a case of using the eyes God gave you and being honest about what you're seeing. Michaels hey-day for concerts was in the mid-late 80's early 90's to me (oh man had me passed out with Dirty Diana!!! )...but now I think he's been off the horse so long (with being a father) that I dont think he could get back into the straps if Roy Rogers helped him. I think the closest thing were gonna get to Michaels greatness in concert is to pop the old VHS's and DVD's in the player and sigh and smile. *HOPE Michael somehow reads this and proves me wrong!!* That's why the acoustic set would be so great. Like Soul said, he could just sit there have stripped down versions of some of his uptempo songs and really showcase the great vocal songs. He could TALK to the audience for a change. Have 2 girls and a guy on back up and the best musicians. Carlos Santana could make and appearance, Marsha Ambrowyhatever from Floetry or Shanice could do a nice duet. If he plays those instruments how wonderful would it be to see him sit at the piano and sing I’ll Be There. Stevie could come out for I Can’t Help It. I'm getting excited just typing this up! Now that's what I'm talking about! A show like this would be incredible!! Fans would go insane. He could tell jokes between songs....laugh and make himself appear human for a change. He could announce that he's retiring the silly "King of Pop" title, and even poke fun at himself and his image.Like you said,Carlos Santana could come out for a breathtaking version of "Whatever Happens" and maybe stick around for another rock number ("Dirty Diana"?). Stevie joining him for "I Can't Help It"?? Hell, even I would lose my mind

you can bet his next album will be a lot of studio trickery with masked/altered/filtered vocals, maybe even some old unused vocal tracks with new instrumentation (I'd accuse Loverboy of doing it with their new album as well- a couple tracks obviously feature older vocal takes).
he can lipsync live shows with alternate mixes etc, but you know all the years of hard dancing he did have taken a big toll on his joints & body in general. his voice is gone along with his nasal passages, it's not hard to imagine with so much of his face having turned to scar tissue, his passages have probably been effected the same way, and no doubt has lost flexibility in his vocal cords / muscles / etc. I'd like to see him do a show about all his plastic surgeries and their long-term effects, no glossing over and no more 'that's crazy, why would I do that?"
