1. The only problem with that is this thread that YOU created isn't even about The Beatles. It's about Britney.

2. If you really wanted to get into a fair & mature discussion about "the devil's music", then ALL music genres of planet earth counts as "the devil's music", including the music that YOU find safe for YOUR ear. The Adversary (Satan) is the "god of this world". Therefore, it's fair to say that the music industry of this world is Satan's.

3. If you really didn't care about what we think, you would never have started this anti-Britney thread in the first place.

Think about it.

Seriously, I listened to this album on MSN and found myself stopping the play after the fourth song. I've never been a Brit fan but I have enjoyed her music. (Everytime/Toxic/Lucky) But this album is weak.

Wow.. where to start?

first off: The new Britney album is much more adult sounding stuff than any of her previous records that I've heard. I especially like "Heaven on Earth", which mixes Giorgio Moroder disco and industrial beats in an absolutely genius way. Then again I think that Britney's voice is NOT what makes this album good. Alot of singers could be singing these of songs, but that doesn't take away from the fact that many of the songs work really well. This album is certainly "dark" sounding compared to other Britney records but satanic?

And another thing: Can someone tell me how the Beatles and Kiss are supposed to be satanic and dangerous? The members of Kiss may not exactly be role-models if you know about their past behaviour, but their music is pretty harmless to me. lol

So I think TotalAlisa should just try to grow up a bit and realize that the world is not black/white, good/evil and that groups like The Beatles (and Britney) are not the biggest problems in society today.

neutral Why buy an album that you can download for free? This is what I don't get about people nowadays who waste their money on music that they download for free. Either be patient and wait for it to come out and buy it, or just download it and donate that money to a more worthy cause. Even as a fan of Prince, I didn't download (or even listen to) a single song from PE until I actually went and bought it. Call me old-fashioned, but I like to be surprised. shrug Britney had poor debut sales on this album because even though many people are saying it's good, obviously not many of those people believe it's good enough to plop down the $20 (or however much it is) to buy it, yet many of these people probably are the first ones who want to defend this girl for her dumb actions. confused It's funny because her record label tried to be slick and change the debut date so she would get #1. I don't think it was just the leak that caused the debut to be bumped up, because the album had been leaked for months already. They did it for that #1 spot and didn't expect the Eagles to take it from her. Man, when I heard the Eagles were putting out an album on the same day, I said, "Oh, they are soo going to beat her out of that number one spot." It was either compete against the Eagles, Jay-Z, or Alicia Keys....lol , yeah, she wasn't going to be #1 at anytime this year. They should have just waited until 2008 after she hopefully get her life together and maybe she would have gotten that top spot, but few people want to support a person who is destroying themselves and those who do disturb me. I was a huge Whitney Houston fan, but the moment I found out that she was a damn druggie, I refused to support her in anyway. Celebrities have big egos and egos blind people to the truth. Britney probably doesn't think she's doing anything wrong with her life and with people supporting her and making excuses for her, she probably thinks everything is all good. Obviously all the love and support ain't helping her get any better. Just my twocents

If you're saying that in a genreal senese, WOW! Honestly, this kind of thinking is why people will stop making music. It doesn't have to be about major record companies...Just in general why release music if people have this way of thinking? I mean, are you being serious? This doesn't have to be about Britney?

And who in the world is ploping down $20 for a new CD? If they are, for something like Britney, they are crazy. And that's not because it's bad. But most mainstream major releases are $10 10 $12 on the day of relase at most places. Go to an indie store and maybe $15. You would have to really TRY to pay $20 for Britney's new one. I think if you're paying $20 for a new CD (and it's not at an indie place you're supporting), you're crazy! I can imagine paying $20 for an import or double disc set. I think with any album now of days you can download it and then see if you like it. If I'm not sure on a new disc, I'll sample stuff and figure it out. It is sad, though, that with Radiohead's experiement, most people paid nothing for their new album. Speaks volumes about where things are heading.

biggrin It's not just about Britney at all. I just don't see the point in having two copies of the same album, unless it was to get the cover art and booklet, in which case, why not just wait for the album to come out and buy an official copy? People will only stop making music when the entire world goes deaf, which I don't see happening anytime soon; or, when they can't make money off of it anymore (artists and record labels both). Like I said in the original post about if you're going to download it for free than donate the money to something else or just go and buy it and support the artist (and unfortunately the record label too). I even stated that I'm old-fashioned and would rather buy an album because I like the artist or I've heard many of their songs on the radio and like what I hear. I don't download music that I have intentions of buying, but again that's just me. I usually wait to hear three singles from a newer artist before I even decide whether or not I want to buy their album. I barely ever buy albums when they debut unless I really like the artist. If I want to hear a song by this person, odds are it's being played on the radio or I can go on their website and just listen to it. If all artists just released their music on their websites and put a price on downloading the songs, than I have no problem with that at all, but there are people who download music and don't pay for it, so the artist suffers just as much as the record label does. As much as many people don't like major record labels, these industry folks do put the artists out there so the are kind of a necessary evil, kinda like gasoline. Unfortunately, you need gas unless you plan on walking everywhere. Artists need record labels to get their music to the mass public, because selling homemade CDs out of the trunk of one's car isn't going to guarentee world wide success as a recording artist. Artists need record labels to get them into the public eye and many labels need those artist to make them a profit. Even Prince has to go through major labels to mass produce and distribute his music, so I'm not going to be hating that hard on the big corporate machine. This is just my twocents on the matter, so that doesn't make it law. To me, it's pointless to buy an album that you have already downloaded for free, and many times illegally, in it's entirety. If you downloaded one or two songs, than that's really not that much different from when people used to tape songs off of the radio back in the day, but nowadays, people download entire albums for free, which is basically stealing from the artist; and I don't agree with that at all.

eek What?!?!? I didn't download any album, never said I did. Where are you reading that from, because I know I never said anything about how I downloaded any album without paying for it. Please re-read my original posts more thoroughly before posting offensive, non-truths. Thanks biggrin Anyway, I just wondered why anyone who had downloaded the leaked album wouldn't just wait for it to come out and buy it, since many of them were probably going to buy it anyway. Patience truly is a virtue possessed by few. Nope, have never downloaded a single artist's album, especially not Britney's. Don't like the electro pop vibe on many of the songs that I heard on Access Hollywood when the President of Jive was promoting the album for her. The only Britney songs I own are the ones that are on some of the compilations CDs that I have. I will admit that I have gone to the library on many occasions and on one trip rented some of her albums just to see what the big deal was and many of them are well-produced, but nothing I would spend my money on to buy or waste my time on downloading. In fact, the only album that I have two copies of in my entire music collection is "Musicology"...one because I went to one of the concerts and they handed it to me as I walked through the door; the other I bought off a used CD website because I just wanted the booklet. Trust me, if someone wanted a copy I'd be more than happy to give them one. What do I need two copies of the exact same album for? confused Like I said, I'm not going to hate on record labels because they help get the artist's music out to the public. If artist's could do this without the record label, than I'd be super happy, but not many artist's have the money or want to pay for studio time, producers, instrumentalist, songwriters, mass production of the album, distribution, and promotion, so in saying that I'm confused as to what you mean by "the model" I mention that doesn't give artists or record labels any profits. The only "model" I mention that steals from the artist and record label is illegal downloading, which I don't agree with. Anyway, it's all gravy. Big business screws the little guy...always has and always will and the music industry isn't the only big business out there unfortunately. Hate one, hate them all...that's fair, right? sad

Hate one, hate them all...that's fair, right? sad

Sorry about that. Could've sworn you said you downloaded it so why would you pay for it. I got you, then.
