My signature comes from "Funkentelechy vs. The Placebo Syndrome". Some solid funk here.

Not Parliament's best album (that goes to Mothership) BUT it's their second best. This album is like herion funk. Very dark, very edgy, very street. They simply were not fucking around with this album. And the title track....Bootsy just needs his ass kicked for coming up with the bass lines to this track. Deeply STOOPID. This album is very O.G. Pure gangsta before Hollywood and Snoop pimped the G and made it mainstream bullshit. This was BEFORE white kids in Montana was attempting to Crip walk. This is what all the O.G.'s blasted while pumpin' iron in the garage or just kicking it in the street about 20 deep. U fuck around and turn down the wrong corner, the ONLY way u got a pass was that u BETTER be playing this, LOUD in your ride.

Very well put. They had already cemented their cosmic/funk status with "The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein" so securely, that they were able to squarely focus on a solid concept (from music to performance to funklore) with this album. Definite classic.

"Flashlight" was like an instant shot of funk to your brain, as in; the first time you heard it you knew it was a hit. And "Funkentelechy" was a strong Bootsy / George Clinton production. And the album as a whole followed up on the whole Sir Nose storyline nicely as well.

Even STILL to this day, Flashlight is all alone in it's funk glory. NOTHING is like it. It's so bangin' that it's actually silly. That's how off the hook the track is. It was sooooo ahead of it's time, that it STILL sounds ahead of what's out there today. Crazy. They were in such a zone and so in touch with what they were doing during 75-78 that all they could do was just hang on and cut as much as they could while they were in that zone.

There were so many images to absorb during that time. Was that the one where he was standing there with one leg up, with all those white foxtails hanging all over him, from his head-dress all the way down, while he was holding a miniature rocket ship?
