"Don't Cha" by PCD Why has this song continually been referenced in movies and programming eversince it became a hit a few years ago? I know popular music is referenced in other forms of art and media all the time, but I can't think of any other pop song of the past five years (off the top of my head) that continues to pop up in movies/shows as if it's some kind of classic.

What makes that song standout are the words. Perhaps they're part of some universal dilemma.
Sort of side note: I heard this song, somewhere recently and thought, "I'd like to hear a guy cover this" But could come up with none that could pull if off convincingly. Does anyone come to anyone's mind that could do it? Not comically. Hope you don't mind. Didn't want to start a separate one just for that. I liked the song better when it was called "Swass" and done by Sir Mix A Lot.
But yeah, it has that whole "temptress" thing that a man really can't get away with.

There has to be, at least, one. Maybe a rock version...or glam rock. If there's no one now, there will be soon. The overall male silhouette in fashion is slimming down drastically. When that happens, there's more male sexuality/sensuality in music too. I'm guessing something in 2008 will come close. But yeah, it has that whole "temptress" thing that a man really can't get away with.
