MJ fans - gather round. There's something we need to discuss.

I came here to post this because it's really the only place I thought I could post this. If I post this on any MJ forums they will close it. And any other non-MJ forums I go to has little to no MJ fans. This place has a heap of cool, sane fans who honestly like Michael Jackson. So this is the perfect place ot post this.

I was talking to some fans today about MJNI. Just remembering back to those times gave me a rush or satisfaction. MJNI was amazing. They were very close with Michael's people. They always had exclusive messages from Michael himself. They organised parties that Michael attended. During the HIStory tour they made sure everyone got to see him by securing thousands of tickets for MJNI members and organising travel and hotel arrangement. It was truly wonderful. And just remembering some of the names of people on the message board made me want those days back. We had so much fun just talking shit.

But sadly MJNI is closed. I look at the forums that are available now. None of them live up to MJNI. The right people aren't running the big forums. The right people aren't posting on the big forums. It's just, not right.

As an MJ fan I long for a place like MJNI to discuss Michael Jackson. Somewhere that's dedicated to Michael Jackson, not another artist entirely (like this forum). MJJF (now MJJC) sucks. MJNO sucks. MJStar sucks. Where else is there to go? I am starting to think the KOP board might be the way to go. But it just seems too small and too slow. Is there anyone running that forum who is anywhere near as dedicated as the people who ran MJNI? Does anyone on that forum have close connections with Michael and his peeps? Would KOP board ever through a fan party that Michael would attend? Remember the insiders on MJNI who used to leak awesome information to us about releases months before they were released? Is there anyone like that on KOP?

I'd like to hear your thoughts. What's up with the MJ fan community at the moment. Why does every online MJ fan club suck donkey balls? Why can I not stand the majority of MJ fans? In short, WTF?

What is KOP? I thought people were misspelling OKP (okayplayer short hand).

Nooo, not KOP. That's awful now. MJStar is OK now I find. I have my little gathering of friends here though: http://z3.invisionfree.co.../index.php (sorry, have to sign-up to view), but we're just arsing about.

It's not the boards themselves anymore, it's the posters. All of the great folks from MJNI wandered off into oblivion, although SOME are still about under different names, not all in the same places though. I personally know a few of the old MJNI team and they're just not net-heads anymore.

Oh, MJJUK is also OK, but slow. The big boards are always crap cos they're full of morons. You need to get in with about 10-20 decent posters and jsut talk amongst yourselves these days.

There's a line between objective discussion and flaming/bashing. MJStar have crossed that line. The way their members talk about MJ is disgraceful for people who call themselves MJ fans.

I think they've been pushed over the egde by the likes of MJJF with the "no negativity" rules. All the people pushed out or banned from those places have just flocked together elsewhere. The Nazi-like moderation (MJJF), or NO moderation at all (KOP) at the bigger places have created places like MJStar, and now there's no decent mix of opinions in one place.

I have noticed that a number of the Michael Jackson forums are full of people in their teens. There are some fans who are older, but not as many.

Nothing against teens, but when you're in a place and are in a serious minority if you're over 21, it's a bit like standing in the middle of a school-ground. You just can't commit to joining in full time.

I recommend KOP. The Michael Jackson Vault is really great but it's really small

awww mister.. the MJJF is okay... its kinda boring in my opinion.... i never heard of MJstar but im definitly going to check that out...

and most likely if they are not in connections with MJ.. its because of MJ... he is probably distanting himself from them....

You what thats where i found out MJ was IN My state... and next to me.... he went to maryland.. and looking for houses in maryland during the summer.. which i though was soo cool. and my friend claimed he saw mj limos...

I hope he really bought a place on the eastern shore of MD>. because if so Im stopping by.... lol

there have been lots of great MJ forums that have closed on me too... theres a really cool MJ forum where they share Downloads, video footage... so many things...

It's almost turning into MJJF with race race race on everyone's mind now though. It's so boring and quite offensive at times. Then there's the OMG Michael forum there. "OMG" is the only reaction anyone can have to that. I'm NO prude, in fact I have a downright filthy mind at times and have some very colourful language, but what they post in that forum is FOUL.

If anyone's a member and hasn't delved deep into the dark waters of the OMG Michael section, then take a look at your own risk: http://www.mjj2005.com/ko...owforum=25

To be honest, though, I have noticed that most people I know who like his music are never members of online forums. They are willing to download or purchase his music, but are not interested enough to talk about him or his music with others.

Perhaps these individuals are the sane fans. smile

A lot of Michael fans are touchy-feely vegetarians who want to emulate Michael's Peter Pan-esque image... it's impossible to have a decent conversation with people who are so easily offended.

I was the one who suggested to Gloria to start an MJNI message forum and I nagged her months to do so and she eventually gave in. They started trying to get members to pay to be a member of the forum and naturally, everyone buggered off.

MJ forums died because there hasn't been anything remotely interesting or news-worthy to discuss for years. MJ hasn't taken an interest in his own career since the late nineties so it was only a matter of time. There's only so long you can pretend to be interested in Michael's legal affairs...

It's been fun recently to see these new photoshoots and start seeing him as a popstar again. Hopefully they'll be videos, albums and performances on the way... but somehow, I doubt those days will ever fully return.

I was speaking to some fans who think that banning you is what caused MJNI to close down. Everyone lost interest and sort of revolted against MJNI when they banned you. You have massive respect in the MJ fan community. To the over 21s, not the teens, they have no idea who you are.
