"Brooklyn Zoo" Oh, thanks man! I knew it was familiar. I heard Brooklyn Zoo, the other day. "Puffy's good. BUT SLIM SHADY'S FOR THA CHILDREN!!!" Ah, God rest Osirus/Old Dirty Bastards Soul (Even though he was a nutty fool. That's why I loved the guy, quite frankly.).

I think the piano in Brooklyn Zoo is a sample too

Just one chord, the "progression" is how RZA tuned the sample in different pitches.

I just thought of an old freestyle of Eminem's that had included Em' satiring of ODB interrupting P. Diddy at the Grammy's (When he was Puff Daddy.).

Oh, and I just wanted to make note of how cute Alicia was on the intermission of that song on its video where she plays her ass off on this piano some rendition of a random classical piece.....with pigtails on. Oh, and did I mention that she had pigtails? Very cute, she was.....

This song is a bonus Itunes bonus track from the album. I didn't like it on first listen, but it's gotten a little better.

Swizz Beats actually produced the bonus song,
I'm listening to Lesson Learned right now and it's a bit mind boggling how anyone can possibly like that song. I just don't understand. On I Need You she had the perfect opportunity to kill it at the end on the piano, but as usual, she kept it simple. I'm actually starting to wonder if she even knows how to play the piano? I think Alicia has brilliant ideas, but she doesn't know how to execute them properly or really build on them. She wows me a lot, but it's always in short spurts. Well, this is the same question I had about the obnoxious No One. At least on LL I can zone in on Mayer's guitar a little. I think a better musician would have breathed some life into it but overall just a small light on a totally dim project. Nothing grabbed me on As I Am. Even the song I thought I liked That's The Thing About Love or whatever didn't keep me interested on the CD. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Smooches;) I always thought that too; here's a girl who learned classical piano, and was accepted to college at Columbia (Ivy League !). Yet in her interviews and award show appearances, she tries to come across like an East New York hoodrat gangsta . I know people have different sides to them, but jeez... Strikes me as a bit of a pose #SOCIETYDEFINESU

You couldn't get away with that on her message board I think that's the problem with classically trained people compared to those that learn in a different way (church, self taught, or taught in a non-classical genre). When it comes to writing popular music, she doesn't do as well as someone putting a classical tune in front on her and she playing the hell out of it, so she sticks to simple chords and melodies. I've been playing the flute for 19 years. Played classical music. I can't write music that well though. I'm working on that. I think writing and playing are two different animals. That's just my opinion

Sigged! I don't know what y'all were expecting. She was signed by Clive Davis. The man is here to put out calculated, one hit pop bullshit. The fact that she's still around is because she does what Clive tells her to do. If Clive tells her to put out an album of tepid, half-baked, boring, hip hop influenced crap, that's what she's gotta do if she wants to have a career. i don't know that she's above the stuff she's putting out, but she's certainly not a big enough star to break away from Clive.
