Loverboy Announces November 6 Release of New CD ``Just Getting Started'' Exclusively at Wal-Mart

LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-LOVERBOY returns full-force with the in-your-face new CD release JUST GETTING STARTED, the band's first studio album in more than a decade. RockSTAR Music Corp., www.rockstarmusiccorp.com, Loverboy's label, completed the exclusive relationship with Wal-Mart for national hard copy distribution for the November 6th release at a retail price of $8.82 at all 3,400 U.S. Wal-Mart stores. The CD will be available for download at www.walmart.com and through other on-line retailers.

From 1980 through 1987, the band released four multi-platinum best sellers and several gold albums. Their hit singles are now rock staples and include Turn Me Loose, Working For the Weekend, The Kid Is Hot Tonite, Hot Girls in Love, the power ballad When It's Over, and many more that are still concert favorites today for LOVERBOY fans around the world.

Original and current members Mike Reno (lead vocals), Paul Dean (lead guitar), Matt Frenette (drums), and Doug Johnson (keyboards) have been touring for the last decade, and with the tragic loss of their bass player Scott Smith, who was declared "lost at sea" in 2000, the band continues with "new" bassist Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve on this record.

JUST GETTING STARTED marks a creative new chapter in the long history of a legendary group that has always been dedicated to songs of honest emotion set to forceful, commanding instrumentation. The CD includes a special cut, Stranded, Reno's tribute to Scott Smith, written and sung in his memory. On Stranded, Reno was also joined on background vocals by longtime band friend Phil Collen of Def Leppard. A bonus song will also be available digitally titled Alive, a song recorded at one of the band's recent concerts.

The CD will be made available for secure radio and press distribution via www.plaympe.com. We got a promo copy at work...and to my shock, surprise and maybe horror...it's actually a decent album. My co-worker put it in and after three songs, I was intrigued enough to ask, "Who is this?" He smiled and said "Loverboy." I was dumbstruck.

Good for them, they actually have been doing alot of promoting on Myspace, and i got invites and things from them telling me the record was coming out, i guess they saw my interest in bands from that era that STILL record.

I don't get the Wal-Mart exclusives for new material, especially an act like The Eagles! I don't like it!

got the cd and i have to say this is one of the BEST album's this year
it's so refreshing to hear songs with a big hook again

there are 3 outstanding power ballads on this cd

Fade To Black
I Would Die For You
and the 1st single The One That Got Away

the rest of the cd is filled with solid rock tunes

if this cd was released in the 80's it would have been a MAJOR hit for them
Mike Reno's voice sounds as good as ever

i highly recommend it

it comes out today as a Walmart exclusive cd and is also available and Itunes
