I also know that from an ethical, moral standpoint, that you should pay for a product you receive. Put this same scenereo in a situation where you have to confront the actual producer of the product.

They say, "I'm thankful for your patronage, if you would like our product, you can have it. However, a $5 donation would help us tremendously to continue producing our art.

The alternative is-
An artist goes through the big-league routes and gets jack for his music because it gets raped for all (and more than) it's worth from every middleman that can get his cock in the mix.

What's with this "do you understand" shit? My reading comprehension and reasoning abilities are just fine. And Yes, I'm aware of the shit that goes on with regard to artists and the record companies. You're not telling me anything I haven't known for a while now, and I've still continued downloading.

Besides, most of the shit coming out through record companies nowadays is absolute shit. When I hear about kids stealing that shit, I can't fucking blame them.

After a little thought, what's being done here with this album is clever - people are basically being forced to confront illegal downloading and decide where they stand on it, and whether or not they'll. And, like you said, this is also giving a "face", in a sense, to the artists that are being stolen from.
