If Prince started in the early 80´s, that´s almost 3 decades as well. THat´s not longer - probably about the same. Oops, you're right... maths is not my strength it's about 27 years for both! But still, I think Prince did more concerts than Michael and he doesn't look like he never wants to tour again!! Yeha. Judging from the Ebony interview, it looks like MJ is more interested in other media, such as film.

We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

PatrickS77 said: thick and fast tv appearances and interviews? How many TV appearances has he had in the last couple of years? 4 or 5? Around about 12, which is at least 8 or 9 more than MJ. Those include a fifteen minute spectacular at the Superbowl this year which was among the best of his career, and which kicked holy shit out of MJ's fake-ass pantomime job in 1993. The Brit Awards performance from last year was another 15 minute masterclass performed totally live. MJ's one "performance" in the last 5 years was an unrehearsed, shambolic disaster in which he only sang about three lines in a voice so soft you could barely hear it. As for interviews Prince has given at least twenty in the last few years on radio, TV, and in magazines. But of course it's the performances that count. Prince has given the best TV performances by any artist in recent years. No mean feat for a man pushing 50. The only thing you really have going are the concerts, but then again... most of you are not even able to attend, since they are either too expensive or too far away!
Too expensive? P's tickets are the most reasonably priced of any artist out there of his stature. As for them being too far away, let me tell you, it's a lot easier to get to a Prince concert than an MJ concert, since the only way you could get to an MJ concert would be to invent a time machine. Damn, where's Michael J Fox when you need him? “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I think it would be fair to say P has probably given about 3 times as many live performances in his career as MJ has. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Tickets for P's 21 dates in London cost only 31 pounds. You know that as well as I do so quit playing dumb. The New York gig was just one gig. Stop twisting things. It's very devious. As for getting to P's shows, it's a lot easier to get a plane to London to see P than to get a time machine to 1997 to see MJ. Fans do not make an artist, God does. I'm a Prince fan, but I didn't teach him how to play the guitar or do the splits. He taught himself that without any help from me. He doesn't owe me jack shit. At this stage of P's career, albums are no longer as important as his live shows. I can assure you, Prince didn't sell out 21 nights in London by appealing only to harcore fans. He's picking up new fans and recapturing lost ones all the time with the strength of his live work. I can assure you he does not need to lick the public's ass to get them to see him. They go because of the QUALITY OF THE WORK! MJ can fellate his fans all day long. It won't make his shows any better, and it won't make me any more interested. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I agree that God does make the Artist. Very true. I meant that we make them as far as putting money in there pockets from Album Sales, Concert Tickets, etc...for that I believe we should be at least valued by the artist..right?? Good point. Album sales are not Prince's focus. But, threats 2 his fans can certainly ruin his Mass Appeal. And that can turn off the newbies which haven't got as deep into Fandom as the Hardcores have. [Edited 11/10/07 6:35am]

[Edited 11/9/07 19:29pm] [Edited 11/9/07 19:30pm] The answer is simple. Because there are two threads here trying to claw back some brownie points for MJ on the basis of P's current actions, which have nothing to do with MJ. It would be like me starting a thread in 2003 saying "Aha! Prince is smarter than MJ 'cos he knows not to hang with little boys". That would just be stupid. MJ can't attack his fans because there all he's got left. They are the ones fighting the ground war against the millions who think he's a freak. They are the ones who remind him he used to be popular. They're all he's got, and furthermore, has it ever occured to you that Mike probably isn't even interested in his career enough to get involved in that kind of thing? Prince is still very much interested and involved. That doesn't mean I approve of his actions, but MJ fans should think carefully when comparing P's situation with Michael. The bottom line is, it's better to be a P fan now than an MJ fan. There was a thread here just the other day saying how the MJ boards are dying a death. The reason for that is because they've got nothing interesting to talk about, cos their man has been chilling for years. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I realised that 10 years ago when I saw the History Tour (and the video to BOTD). Ten years later and some of you are still daydreaming about a comeback. P.S.
