They have memories of the KOP/Peter Pan but they don't have much memories of Michael Jackson the artist. Lets face it Michael probably needs his fans more than Prince, so he isn't going to do much to antagonise them, apart from make them wait another 5 years for an album, which wouldn't even be a patch of his earlier work. Please don't dictate to me or anyone else what our best memories of Michael Jackson should or should not be. It is obvious that other than his younger fans, like myself, the ex-fans are the one who are obsessed with his career. Why even bother when you think that his future output will be "a patch of his earlier work." I am not dictating to you. I Just don't think having memories of Michael starting from Dangerous are the very best memories of Michael career, considering when his career started. And please this is not MJJF, if you want only MJ hard-core fans to come into a MJ thread then I suggest you post exclusively on a Michael Jackson forum, where everyone think Michael is wonderful all the time.

midnightmover said: Exactly. You won't see Prince fans having three day orgasms over a goddamn photo shoot. We've got concerts, albums, TV appearances, and interviews coming thick and fast. MJ fans just have memories. No-one is more bone idle than MJ. No-one.
LOL yes... albums, which most of you hate and thick and fast tv appearances and interviews? How many TV appearances has he had in the last couple of years? 4 or 5? And when was the last indepth interview he did? I only remember one! Michael just has as much (or little) tv appearances and interviews as Prince! The only thing you really have going are the concerts, but then again... most of you are not even able to attend, since they are either too expensive or too far away! Great... pat yourself on the back! Man, now I've entered another pointless debate!

Great... pat yourself on the back! Man, now I've entered another pointless debate! Pretty much but I don't know how you can compare the two in that sense. Michael has to approach his career differently than Prince. Prince does not have the tarnished public image that MJ does so Prince can drop an album anytime or do a concert anytime he feels like it, Michael can't. Michael has to ease his way back into the spotlight and that's what the point of doing those photoshoots and other things were about. He has to approach things differently. But I guess some of the fans get excited over things like photoshoots because Michael has not done anything in a while and because he almost went to jail for many years 2 years ago so yes it's exciting for some of the fans like myself to see him out and about again and to see that he is actually alive and seems to be doing well & is working on new music. Just like Prince fans get excited over the smallest things like Prince making some music list or seeing a new pic of him. Only thing is that Prince puts out music regularly and gives live performances whereas Michael doesn't, but again his situation is completely different than Prince's. His situation is different to most artists/celebrities actually. [Edited 11/8/07 14:07pm] "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

Well, it's not like they don't care... it's just, they understand, that singing and dancing at the same time, like Michael does, is hard! But that said.. Michael is almost 50 now... he should stop worrying about the dancing and just do concerts and concentrate on the singing! He can dance perfectly in his music videos! Though what I mostly meant with my previous comment was, that MJ should go out there and do concerts! He shouldn't be lazy and feel that he doesn't have to do concerts anymore! Prince is still hungry to perform and do concerts.... Michael is not, he feels that it's a thing of his past, and that sucks!

Michael has been doing tours for about 20 years (he stopped 10 years ago), when we're being generous! When did Prince do his first tour? I'm sure it was in the early 80ies, wasn't it? So Prince has been doing it longer than Michael! So that excuse doesn't work! The only excuse that works is, that Michael has children and Prince doesn't!

And when did MJ go on his first tour? Early 70´s? So that´s 70´s, 80´s, 90ś - three decades. If Prince started in the early 80´s, that´s almost 3 decades as well. THat´s not longer - probably about the same. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. He's only release 6 albums in the last 28 years with 3 solo world tours. So when he does come out with a new album, or even hint at the slight possiblitly of thinking about making a new album, fans go ape-shit. When he does anything these days, because he rarely does anything publically ever, fans gets creamy excited over it. It's alot more fun waiting and killing yourself with anticipation for an album than knowing you'll get a new album within the next 12 months. The excitement of it all if what being an MJ fan is all about. MJ knows how to work an audience better than anyone alive. He knows how to make us really, really want his new album. We've waited so long and he's going to keep us waiting until the excitement level is through the roof and he has his fans stomachs up around their nostrils, then he'll drop it when we are most looking forward to it but still kinda not expecting it. That's how the King rolls. Have you heard yourself? You sound like some brain-washed ho defending her pimp. "Yeah, he locks me outside in the freezing rain in my undies, but that's what's so great about him. When he tells me to stand in the corner on one leg for two hours facing the wall, I just get gooey with excitement. I know eventually he'll tell me to turn around and I'll be allowed to look at him again for two seconds before he sends me back out onto the street. Oh, I live for those moments." MJ doesn't have many Albums....but he also doesn't have many bad albums... Even those of us who don't like P's recent output are still pleased because he is still a frequent live performer, doing completely unpredictable shows, unlike a certain unemployed former pop star. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
