Wow! I hope they tour in the US, their concert at the Worcester Centrum was my first when I was 14. I sneaked away by myself from Dorchester, caught a Greyhound bus at South Station with my 13 year old friend and saw a great concert! I even saved and bought my own ticket....best contact high I ever had at that show...what a great night! cool

On the real....That first list of songs are deep album cuts and new songs...I dig Duran Duran...But they gotta play some hits at the start of the setlist...Actually, i don't see too many of the hits...(Notorious, Reflex, Ordinary World, View To A Kill and Come Undone...that's it...)...They better switch up those songs...No "Rio???" Come on....

Actually this mini-tour is for nothing but playing the new album totally beginning to end, I WISH ALL ARTISTS WOULD DO THIS!! Instead of pulling out the jukebox of hits everytime they tour!

Some acts can get away with that....And some acts can't...I heard Duran Duran's new joint and I dig some of the new material...They deserve props for making a good album...But if I'm paying my money to see a band who had the majority of thier hits in a 5 to 6 year period in the '80s, I want to hear the songs I know...Duran Duran is not Bruce Springsteen...They can't get away with that shit...lol...Trust me, when folks pay money to see Simon and boys it's not to hear their complete new album...I think 5 cuts is good enough...Damn, I was actually gonna score some tickets to see them...I hope they switch it up...

Cant wait to hear their take on "Warm Leatherette"!!! I am SO down with this set-list... and I wish more artists (Prince) had the balls to focus heavily on the new material Live.

If Prince was playing small halls like Duran Duran, he could get away with it (he played a lot of new material during the Vegas shows....)...Besides, some of Prince's deep album cut material is just as good as the hits...However, the only reason the Durans are playing more of thier new stuff and the obscure stuff is because they can afford to since they are playing in front of 2000 people...But if they had to play large halls or arenas they wouldn't do that shit.. biggrin ...Let's be real here...All this to say that I want to hear "Rio" if I'm paying money to see Duran Duran....lol

Fair enough... But the set-list still seems quite ballsy, small theatre or not, no?

Question -- has DD ever thrown a Power Station or Arcadia song into a live show?

As far as i know DD billed this event as to beginning an Album launch, nota hits show, which really NO artist has to do, they are not obligated to do anything but show up and play. I understand everyones point with shows and hits, but depending how many times you have seen an artist after awhile you get bored of them singing the same stuff. I mean ive seen Prince 73 times and thank god alot of the shows he has mixed it up. But i think most artists tend to balance it pretty well with new and old, my disappointment with Prince a few times were that he didnt mix in new tracks, the Emancipation Tour was prime example, 36 new tracks and barely played 4-5 at the shows!

The concert is available on duranduranmusic, the fansite. I haven't read the reviews on there yet. If I wasn't in school I would have made that East Coast trek. I love hearing all the hits, and special gems, which I've already experienced the last tour. It is good when veteran artists switch it up as well, especially if they have new material to promote.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."
