Nice selection of songs, but you need to work on your transitions. A lot of them were pretty sloppy in terms of beatmatching. Also, Superstitious was way too forced. If you gotta come in that fast it just don't work.

But keep practicin'...we all started out somewhere!

Are you fucking kidding me? lol

I have collected about 50 mixes by the man, and he can definitely mix.

He knows what he is doing when he chooses the tempo. All depends on the mood of the mix.

No need to get upset, I'm just trying to provide a little constructive criticism.
There are transitions where the beats of the songs do not match, and that makes it sound sloppy. As for the Superstition mix, the fact that Stevie had to sound like Alvin from the Chipmunks at first, and then to actually slow the tempo noticeably during the mix are two big no-no's. But that doesn't mean those things can't be rectified with practice!

lol when i started dj'n tables had no pitch controls lol, im so used to fightin' with records man smile

lol You too, i remember playing a record that b.p.m.'s were just slightly faster than the record you were playing and slowing it down with your fingers plus using a radio shack mixer with no crossfader.

DJ'n has come a long way, now they don't even use tables... CD and Laptop computer software using wannabe's.

I used to do that too. Hell, sometimes I still cheat and do it. lol

Do you ever use CD players with pitch contol? If so, which one do you recommend? (I want something cheap lol )

I've had two of these since 2001 and never had any problem with them until this year when they wore out.....

I can be playing a song and the player will jump to another section of the song, so I'm assuming they are worn out.

I've seen this one on the internet that looks like it might be the new look of the ones I previously had.....

I've only seen one customer review on the entire internet and this person said it will not play a lot of his CDs ripped from his MAC (whatever the hell that is).

Whatever you do though, stay the hell away from this one.....

I am still waiting for my refund on the two that I recently ordered. They won't play all my CD-Rs and I definately need two players that play CD-Rs.

On this slow as computer it would take me probably four hours to download it, but judging by the songs people are talking about, it sounds like you got a pretty good mix Finess. I'm stealing some ideas from you for myself. lol

nod lol there's not a dj around, that can deny ever doing it.

I bought this last year for my nephew, It's pretty good for a youngun like him...he's scuuuuured of the 1200's (lazy).

It looks clumsy lol but for what I paid and who I bought it for was well worth it. $125.00 @ a local pawn shop. I've tried it and it mixes pretty good.

He can actually mix with it, It's all in one plus you can hook up tables and it plays CDR's but no MP3's. It has pitch control and some more features. I looked it up on the web and it was listed around 300 new.

Cinister Cee is the tech around here, he'll be able to help, but for cheap I think the Numark CD Mix 2 is cool.

Man, y'all are makin' me wanna mix now.

Thanks Starmon. That one looks really great. Does it plug into a stereo receiver? DJing is not my profession so I do not have any kind of PA system or anything. I just have all kinds of stereo equipment at home for entertaining myself and friends (since I can't count on the radio to do it anymore lol ).

I like the fact that you can plug two turntables into it because I have two turntables also. I already have a mixer but you can't beat the price for two CD players with pitch controls and a mixer included. The only thing I'm afraid of though, is that it might not play CD-Rs. I know you said your's does but I checked the internet and I don't see it listed anywhere that it was CD-R compatible. I'm wondering if you got lucky (that does happen sometimes). However, then again, the Gemini CD players that I returned, did list as being CD-R compatible but they weren't. That's why I hate ordering from the internet and wish they had them in stores.

I check some reviews this morning, as they don't say that it definitely play CDR's, they do comment on it's capabilities to play them, maybe we did get lucky but since my nephew has had it it continues to play them, but as for as a MP3' formatted CDR it will not, however upon searching the net Numark has a CD mix3 witch plays MP3's.

I tried it out at the pawn shop with two CDR CDs from my ride, and it had no problems then and non now. It has the output connectors to hook up to a home system that was one of the pluses in buying this for him, because he's starting out on a home unit and it can also hook up to Power Amps.

lol I wish I could.

I used to have more vinyl than CDs. Over the years though, with all the greatest hits compilations and various artists compilations, not to mention friends making me CD-Rs of their music, my CDs have outnumbered my vinyl. Oh how I would love to have all of it on vinyl though because CDs were never a good replacement for it. lol
