Where did all you MJ fans come from

You know who you are! You came here in the last few months, and you mostly only posts in MJ threads? How did you find out about this place? Why did you register? Why do you continue to posts on this board? Do you still go on the MJ Boards? Why do you like this board, if at all?

because mj and prince are the best male artists, though I like mj more. Also, people on this board know about old school music more than other forums in general, so I love it here

I love Prince so that is how I discovered the Org. Then I noticed all the Michael Jackson threads. And I love Michael Jackson more. Hence my posting in threads related to MJ. Music: Non-Prince is cool; not like the ones dedicated solely to Prince or MJ.

Yea, if this was in pandr some would be offended that Catholisicm wasn't thought of as Christianity.

Why I came here? Well, because I bought tickets for Prince's UK shows and wanted to talk about it! Once the Tour has ended there wasn't much left for me to talk about Prince and I noticed people here talking about Michael! People who are not as much fan as the ones on MJ boards! It's always interesting to find out what casual fans think about Michael! And yes, I also go to MJ boards! But mostly for news!

I don't know. I am in college, and there are a number of of casual fans my age who think Michael Jackson is this weird middle-aged man, but enjoy listening to his music.

I guess when I want to be objective about mj without having to worry about getting strangled for it, this is a good forum to vent as well, though I looooove him and his music overall.

So you realize that fan sites are a little on the sensitive side and prefer to live in fantasy world. I mean what would you call objective? If I say Michael looks crap and he has ruined his looks and he has caused alot of his own problems on a fan site, would they call that a fair and objective analysis or would I be seen as a hater?

Oh please, you know you would be seen as a hater and rightfully so as you spend all your time on that MJ fan site putting him down. This is a complete waste of time IMO. But honestly, I don't see how you think that you could go on any artists fan site and say that "they look like crap" and not expect most people on there to react negatively to your comments. It's called a fan site for a reason you know which means most people there actually like that artist/celeb.

Now you want people who agree with you about MJ looking like crap and being a big mess then go to any non-MJ site like this one b/c there you'll find plenty of people who agree with you, but don't expect to go to an artists fan site and constantly diss them and not expect to get flammed by their fans. I mean what do u expect really? Be realistic.

You don't have to get twisted. I wanted to know from alphastreet what does he/she mean by objective. Why would he get flammed on a Michael Jackson site just for being objective and therefore have to come to Prince site to say it, even though he or she is an ardent fan. And quite frankly I don't think saying someone looking crap is full of hatred. It can be class as objective if that is how he truely looks like.

I agree with you. After what OfftheWall wrote in the other thread about his appearance in Ebony Magazine, I began to regret all the things I have written about his appearance. Writing that he looks "like crap" or "monstrous" is rude, and mean. Who are we to judge what a person looks like? Comments like these contributed to what the man did to his face in the first place. I do not want to contribute anymore.

And whatsgoingon: I like you, but sometimes I feel like you repeat the same thing over and over again in all these threads related to Michael Jackson. We get it. What is the point of talking about all of this over and over again?

Intention is not the issue though. Criticising people's look is just inappropriate.period

I think everyone no matter how they look like, should be told they're beautiful...

I believe the beautiful lady above, would still be alive today if it wasn't for the constant bullying she suffered during her youth sad

I think people forget the power their words have on people's lives.Especially young people's...

I would probably have more affinity with you all, if fans then didn't come to a non-fan site and then complain in the same way they would as if they were on a MJ fan-site.

I can understand fans going ballistic on a fan site if someone says something unflattering about Michael but it's when you come to sites like these and become ballistic when people say unflattering things about Michael that gets more goat.

and guys seriously, have respect. u don't see us criticizing prince on mj messageboards. honestly, I like prince, but the attitude of some fans disturbs me a lil. I was on housequake yesterday, and they talked about mike being on the new ebony (which I bought! yay!) and I couldn't believe how many people talked about how the editors 'obviously' photoshopped mjs face.

but whatever floats ur boat I guess.

right, people have to understand what 'fan sites' are, they are made up of fans who dont care about being objective. if you want to have objective conversations about an artist its best if you dont go to their own fan sites to do so, there are plenty of community forums where you can discuss anything. i like the org but i've never been to the prince-related section, the main reason is im really not that big of a prince fan.this org seem to have a few more mature people and discuss more then the current crop of music makers.
