Beverley Knight Tour Just curious to see whether her exposure at Prince's gigs made any of you want to go and see her live? I'm a huge fan of Beverley's so I was going to her tour anyway, booked as soon as they went on sale. Went last night to see her at Manchester Apollo. Once again blown away by her amazing vocals and stage presense. I go to alot of gigs (possibly too many) and regardless of how energetic or powerful peoples performances are - no one enjoys it as much as Beverley. Even though a relatively small venue (around 3000) best crowd atmosphere at any gig I have been to this year. Vocals were on top, even better than her last tour. Highlight for me was the unplugged version of Made It Back, when she hit that opening note - wow. She really cares about her fans and even dedicated one of the songs to one of her fans who had battled cancer who was there last night. I know it sounds stupid but she gives genuine eye contact, unlike Gwen Stefani who I saw a few weeks back who looked straight through you. Setlist was awesome, included the best bits of her album including Black Butta which was incredible and all of her hits. Didn't need to go off stage and change clothes every other song to fill up the time, she performed solidly for the whole set apart from a two minute period (max) while the band did an instrumental bit while she had chance to catch her breath. If you haven't seen her on tour yet, you have to go. Even if you don't like her music, you can't denay her talent. Here are a few pics from the gig last night:

Beverly Knight is an AMAZING vocalist!!!
For those across the pond who aren't familiar with her, you just have to imagine a British equivilent to a baby version of Patti, or contemporary to Fantasia. Bev Knight sets a stage on FI-YAH, chile. She is no joke | |
