Why Europeans have the same dopey taste in music as us American dopes?

You really have no excuses; you have better schools, more art appreciation, less capitalist expansion or dopey reality television, more readers of books, etc. I know the reason cannot be that the stuff is actually good, when I know that most new music is crap. People like Justin Timberfluke should never make a wave on that side of the pond. We had hope in you, oh nobe Europe, but you let us elitist Americans down. hehe.

The answer is quite simple:

Young Europe wants to experience Americana.

Don't ask me why, cuz I just don't know.
Maybe it's cuz the US produces the best looking films and tv shows?

I wonder what the kids are listening to in Japan?

beer
Prost!

It's not just music. Other countries are copying Americans' crappy eating habits too: http://prince.org/msg/100/250886

isn't bob dylan american too?
Isn't Prince? Springsteen?

it's a combo deal... the bad comes with the good.

problem isn't a geographic or regional one...it's teens today. Never in the history of mankind has there been a generation so willingly fooled by hype, marketing and propaganda. Where-ever there are young people to be fooled that's where clear channel and Mtv are headin'.
It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

Why have you got such a subjective view 2freaky and what are you basing your judgment on? I will say this, Justin Timberlake's music is a hell of a lot more exciting than Prince's these days.

My main thesis is that Europeans have no excuses; at least we have intense propaganda we can say is manipulating us, plus the fact that all of our radio is reflexably right wing. Then there is fucking France, a progressive country and what do they do? They elect this idiot Sarkozy who wants to dismantle the health system and other basics of European mixed economies. I just don't get it.

Sometimes I'm so ashamed to be European.
So ashamed.
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.
