Who is tried of rap music

Is it me or does it seem like it is getting old.

I like rap music and don't think I will ever tire of it, however, I'm not crazy about a lot of the acts that are out now. Especially this plastic/commercial crap.

I wouldn't discard the entire genre. I mean, Jazz music is REAL old, but there's a lot of it I LOVE. Same goes for FUNK, and CLASSICAL even. But that aside, much of the rap music on the radio or TV today is very poorly produced and devoid of any kind of positive message or feeling. But that's not to say that if some well produced, interesting, exciting new music (that just happened to contain rap) came along that I would poo-poo it because it was RAP. Although I can't say I've heard any rap music like that lately; Not Fitty Cent, and certainly not this latest Kanye West CD.

anytime rap spills over to a baby/kid show... WE KNOW WE HAVE A PROBLEM..

what next barney is going to be rapping... i think they already had some rap songs on Sesame street sad

my area doesn't even let all kinds of rap come into play. and the videos make it seem that no other rap style is out. that everyone looks the same way and that is all that is happening. how did rap city and radio let that happen? when did they realize that all rap didn't belong? that never happened before around 2003. then all of a sudden fad rap came out--crunk, body parts, slow rapping, dang what is gonna happen now? and the rappers are getting younger and younger. they don't have the same kind of staying power as rappers of the past because they are doing quick buck quick status songs. not something that expresses hip hop--like you want to know how they will come with a style now. and now the older rappers are halfing rap but are able to still keep a legacy going.

fun rap is cool, but throw some kalib, mos def, and if ll cool j can get right throw him in too. even public enemy.

total alisa says it best. and you can't tell the young ones from the 30 somethings.

I'm an old school hip hop lover. I'm tired of the whole depressed state of rap.
I would never put thought into rap becoming more depressing than Blues or Country music, but it has.

Rap has its own oppressor..."Rap"

I still dig true hip hop, just like r&b, soul, funk, blues, gospel, jazz, it's part of the soundtrack of my life.

You're finally growing up mentally. That is a great thing. nod Your musical needs/wants has change.

BTW, I can still deal with the DJs/beatmakers (although I wish they make their tracks a little fast than 95 BPM). It's mostly the MCs/rappers that pretty wack at the moment.

Turn the station to what? The bullshit is everywhere. It's not just on the radio. It's all over the TV. The slang is all over the talk shows. The clothes are everywhere. Even on the oldies stations, you hear shit hop songs in the background on the commercials. I wish I could tune it out completely but it's impossible because it's everywhere.

I'm sick of the meaningless, gimmicky....let's make a buck real quick type rap that gets the most airtime these days. I feel it misrepresents most African-Americans, degrades women and is homophobic and the way it has bled into virtually EVERY aspect of pop culture has dumbed down the nation.

I don't like to be a stick in the mud either, I can see where a song like Soulja Boy is fun for some people, but when just about EVERY song that gets popular is in that vein, there is a serious problem. I was watching BET recently and it's sad, but all the videos almost seem like parodies....but it's the real thing and these "artists" are being "serious".
