Rodya24 said: Timmy84 said: Agreed with both points. But you know I think everybody in here knows Michael is just a human being. He's made constant mistakes where he misjudged his own common sense and was pretty naive about stuff. That's why when he did things in the press, it was always perceived that he was just this crazy son-of-a-bitch that was wacky and "out of touch with reality". Ain't nothing Mike can do to change it and he knows so. But at the same time, I don't get how some people can blindly defend him when even sometimes he knows he screws up. I'm not trying to change people's minds about how they view Michael. And let's get rid of this racial thing for a minute because, yes, I've noticed the sistas who are MJ fans are still wanting to have his baby or something (DawnD and seeingvoices12 are two posters who sentiment with what I'm talking about... ). But I think we don't all have to think he's the sex god of 20 years ago. He's not but that doesn't mean he's an oddball or "ugly". He's beautiful on the inside but I blame his makeup people in the past into making him look like he just left a circus. The Michael in these photos is the real Michael I feel with probably a few airbrushes but that's just to make the photos look artistic. Some of the Vogue ones including the one where his hands are in prayer there IS a beautiful soul IN THERE. I just hate it when some people look at Mike in a materialistic view. Not saying any of y'all are, that's a mis-assumption that that's how I was thinking. But I am saying that you can't always think people should agree with your assessment of how to look and judge a person. I'll love Michael if he look like a damn trapezoid - I'll joke about it and go "who are the makeup people he's hiring?" Doesn't mean I'm attacking the man who went out like that. And if I said anything like that, I'm sorry but what I'm saying right here is what I feel in my heart. But like I said, Just because there's been times Michael "screwed up" doesn't mean no one here is judging the man. I knew his reasons of what he did in the past but it really doesn't change my public perception of the man for who he is. He'll still be Michael Jackson regardless of how he look. It's the way people CHOOSE to remember him that is a little different. I'm actually INDIFFERENT to how he looks now. The only thing that really makes me happy is that he's still here and he's still looking to continue the career he started 40 years ago. That's why I'll always remain loyal to him. He's still a beautiful brother but it's different for me than how it used to be. It's no longer materialistic but from the inside, he's the same kid who came bursting through 40 years ago to me. People take things too seriously sometimes and we won't get anywhere arguing about it and saying "oh you wrong about that". I mean what good is that gonna do? Like the man once said, "it's just human nature". Well said. And I apologize for going off at you earlier. Same here and apology accepted.

I ain't ever seen this picture in my life! But hindsight is telling me that yes, it's from the "Off the Wall" period, around 1980, or maybe '81, around the time of the "Triumph" tour. It's of that time period.

That was literally the BEST interview he's given in a really long time.
That was a true glimpse of the REAL Michael Joe Jackson, not the King of Pop "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I love Michaels preppy laid back style durring Off the Wall and Triumph.
But I also love the rhinestones and other iconic clothing Michael wears throughout his career. Only he could get away with it.

That was a true glimpse of the REAL Michael Joe Jackson, not the King of Pop It sure is!!!! I love how he sounds as if he's in awe of his father rather than upset. And how he describes his favorite music growing up: "and that Southern 'gutbucket'". I also love how he FINALLY goes into detail with how influenced he was not only by James and Jackie but by Stevie and MARVIN. It amuses me he mentions his name more times than he ever did before. I love how he said how EVERYBODY congratulated him on the moonwalk. I love everything about the fucking interview besides from the Marvin references.

It also made me sad the same way when Patti and Eddie Levert did that tribute to Gerald back in 2006. Black artists don't stick together anymore. Motown was like a family and was very close. Michael and Janet refer Stevie as their "cousin" and the Victory album was dedicated to Marlon. Jermaine was real broken up when Marvin was killed. That was his hero "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

That was his hero I remember hearing about the Jacksons dedicating the "Victory" album to Marvin and I feel Jermaine's pain over losing Marvin. That truly was a blow. And yes, Motown WAS a real family. It's such a shame that black artists nowadays are all about self. Michael never truly forgot what he came from regardless of where his fame took him. People forget that. I'm saying this because it's interesting how he can remember what happened in his life from back then! Fuck the sources. [Edited 11/3/07 22:11pm]
