I find it so rude to talk about someone that way. Admittedly you do not have to be attracted to him, its not some contract you sign when you become a fan and everyone has their own tastes in what they personally find attractive, but calling him names and saying things like you cant bare to look at him is really upsetting to hear.
Afterall he is a human being, can you imagine if he heard those things. Before he is a superstar he is a human, he hurts like us, he does all the things we do emotionally as humans. Of course your entitled to your opinion and you can address your opinions in any way you chose, but I will just say that I found the way you worded your dislike of Michaels surgery pretty rude and upsetting.
I suffer with confidence issues myself, and just to imagine having confidence issues, and problems with your looks while being watched by the world must have been an incredible pressure. Exspecially going from child superstar, the cutie to a teenager being told things about appearence. Admittedly everyone gets told something negative about their appearence once in a while, but it effects people in different ways.
Watching the Martin Bashir documentary the one thing that stood out for me was Michael talking about those fans who met him and his brothers at the airport. Saying 'eww what happened' to Michaels face. To watch that seeing the water glistening in his eyes as he told the story, and the fact that he remembered that from all that time passing. All the things hes achieved since and been through, he remembers that one person putting him down. That pretty much explains alot.
If you suffer with battles of appearence nothing can talk you out of it, its a battle you go through alone. Only you can teach yourself to love yourself. When people tell you your beautiful, it goes in one ear and out the other. And it seems the only way Michael dealt with it was through surgery. He had the money and it was there for him, open to him. Of course the surgeon won't say, Michael you dont need it, Michael dont do that. All they see is green.
Surgery won't make you feel better if you have issues with yourself inside. It will be a continuing thing. Michael obviously doesn't feel comfortable talking about his surgery, as when asked his body language went all over the place. And I dont believe that to be a cover up, I just believe he doesnt want to draw attention to it. He wants to move from the subject of his looks.
Michael didn't need to change a damn thing. Not one thing. He was so gorgeous and whoever put it in his head that he even needed one nose job needs to be slapped 57 million times, hard with a club of spikes. Metal ones, that pierce the skin.
He isn't ugly at all. He is not a freak of nature, he isn't any of the things you posted. I just needed to say that I felt it was pretty darn rude. Peoples comments and judgemental ways is what made him want to change things in the first place. People will always judge, I guess its human nature. Ehem excuse the pun or actually dont excuse it cause its true.

Your comments made me regret all the horrible things I have wrote about Michael Jackson (his appearance) in the past. sad

That's what I am trying to say. Every sista, black and white, that grew up with Michael in the 70s and 80s that I know, do not find him attractive anymore in any form or shape. Some of them still like him as an artist, some can't stand him, some of them like him as an artist but can't stand to look at him. We all agree that he ruined his looks and is definetly NOT f***able anymore!

The only women that still find him attractive are those that came to be fans from the Bad/Dangerous eras onwards and white people who will even find a white, ugly person more attractive than a gorgeous black man-unfortunately he now has alot of fans that adhere to the latter.
[Edited 11/3/07 6:54am]

I disagree with the fans from the Bad/Dangerous eras onwards; I don't think thats an indication on whether they like him 'white' or anything. Because if anything, its clear Michael looked fucked up extremely since than as well. At least than he was cute in the early 90s, not too far a stray from 'Bad'. And in 'Bad', he is still very much caramel anyway. Dangerous, a few shades lighter. I can't bare to look at him now. Everytime I do, I cringe. I still find him attractive, but not physically...not anymore.

I'm going to say is straght up -- Michael looks like a monstrous being post 1996 [sic] and I of course, I can never air my opinions, not even in the most liberalist MJ forums because we have to stay 'positive' and we get 'enough of that from the haters'. Sorry, I can't contain myself when I hear ZOMGGG!!!!11 HE LOOOKS SOO SEXXY!!! a million times over in regards to a photo that only looks good in comparison to 2001 so I have to go on a fucking Prince forum to air out my tension. He looks good here [Ebony] but as good as he possibly can at this point. Not 'good' genuinely.

I agree about the white pro-white MJ fans. In fact, I wrote a blog entry about it where I quoted you [or someone else, can't remember] incoperated into my article/essay (whatever you want to call it) and basically burned bitches to the stake. Timmy knows what I'm talking about biggrin

But, with me i was angry with him concerning his change. Don't want to go into detail about that. But, during INVINCIBLE i simply came into being attracted to THE MAN. It had nothing to do with the lighter his is the better although, i was so very pissed with him about that. Hell No!!! I just didn't see him that way(IN AN ATTRACTIVE WAY) until INVINCIBLE. I was/am this woman that was/is attracted to that man during that time and right now. And, the fact that he's out of this world talented doesn't hurt one damn bit. razz I don't know, one day i saw him on tv and i went, "Damn! How come I've never felt that way before? But, I'm liking what I'm seeing. MJ is so sexy to me now!" lol

Exactly! A person can be attracted to someone not because he or she looks like Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, or Angelina Jolie, but because of other reasons like you pointed out. Great post!

Well, if you can't look at him (now?? You mean you could look at him "then"? What the fuck do you mean? You're fucking 18 years old! You didn't even get to know him "then" when he looked different!) then don't! Listen to his music and stay far away from his pictures and videos!

Geez... it's getting so ridiculous and annoying! People like you are what probably created the problem in the first place! People who just never shut up! Shut the fuck up! You aired yur point!

Besides, you can find great pictures of him in almost every era (of course, there are crappy ones as well and they probably outweigh, but there's no need to harp over that over and over again)! Different but still good looking! People should finally except it and get over it! He will never again look the way he did in the 70s and 80s!

And in person, meaning in nature, close up, he most of the times looks better than on pictures!
[Edited 11/3/07 16:45pm]

Absolutely. Mj is a good looking man. I've seen him in person. I LOVE the man for his inner and outer beauty. People who don't are missing out. Too bad for you. razz

People will always be that, people. Judging people is just a natural thing to do. Why do they do me that way? Because its human nature, a nature that is so horrid. Michael is not ugly, some may prefer him before his procedures, some may prefer him after. Its all beauty in the eye of the beholder. But just because you don't find him appealing, doesnt give you an excuse to literally tear him to pieces. Like I said if it wasnt for judgmental people, telling him whats right and wrong, or what society would prefer then he wouldnt have considered it in the first place. Michael was a beautiful young man. I really can't see another human being compared.
And we all know that, and agree he didn't need anything done.

You said about black people not finding him attractive (which is b.s), and I also dont understand this white people preference I've read a few times either, claiming that mostly white fans prefer when Michael became light.
I am a white female. I was born in 1989, and I fell in love with Michael as soon as I learnt about him. I can't remember a time not being a fan. I would watch him as a kid, teenager, up until dangerous and all those times and it never entered my mind that he had actually changed. I remember seeing the wiz not knowing it was going to be a Michael Jackson movie, and I was literally convinced that was Michael as the scarecrow. Under all the make up I knew it was him. No one even had to tell me and I must have been like 4 years old.But as soon as I grew and society got to me I began to hear peoples comments and talk about Michael. Thats when i was shocked to find people be so cruel. But I have learnt that people cannot help it.
The ones who have an issue with his appearence obviously have the issue within themselves. To be so judgemental is not the best way to live life. Because Michael doesn't fit the standard you set, you ridicule. That is something within a person that they in time will probably overcome, otherwise life will be hard for a person.

I do not prefer his image over another. I love Mike as a person. And I love him from an afro to a perm.

I so appreciate your heartfelt response. Thank you. He is NOT ugly at all. What people fail to realize is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Where 1 person sees 'ugly', another sees 'beauty'. There are thousands, millions of women that thhink MJ is goodlooking. I happen to be one. I think MJ is very sexy. No one is sexier on stage than that man. NO one. And I am a young black female (because someone posted earlier that he wasn't attractive to black women - like they've talked to ALL black women). He lost his color. He's older, but he still looks good. And these people that talk about how ugly Mike looks, what the hell do you look like?

Watching the Martin Bashir documentary the one thing that stood out for me was Michael talking about those fans who met him and his brothers at the airport. Saying 'eww what happened' to Michaels face. To watch that seeing the water glistening in his eyes as he told the story, and the fact that he remembered that from all that time passing. All the things hes achieved since and been through, he remembers that one person putting him down. That pretty much explains alot.

Yes, indeed! That segment particularly is eye-opening! Totally agree with your all of your posts! clapping

With these particular pictures from Ebony magazine i dont see how anyone could think the pics were ugly or make you cringe.

He looks very good on these pics

The only negative i could think of is he looks to pretty

I dont see how pretty and ugly go together

Exactly! It is the SAME PEOPLE who write these things; no different from how I used to troll on Janet Jackson threads with comparisons to Madonna.

I think Michael Jackson looks fantastic! And thanks, Patrick, for posting the entire interview!

Fuck! Some people gotta realise Michael ain't gonna look ANYTHING like he did 15 years ago.

He does look good for his age though you gotta admit! He hasn't looked this good since Dangerous in my opinion.
