Marcus Miller live -- check out this link

MM and his killer band.

I'm checking out their take on Stevie's "Higher Ground."

It's beautiful.

My favorite cut is "Boomerang". "Blast" is a close second, and he does a very groovy version of Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein". "I think Marcus Miller is an awesome talent! Hands down my favorite bass player right now. A Prince / Marcus Miller collaboration would be excited !!!

I asked MM if a collab was likely. He said they've never met. So it looks unlikely.

Perhaps, until they meet?

I dunno... I'm sure P is aware of M. He covered his "Girls & Boys" with Macy Gray, after all. M was working with Miles around the time P was getting to know him.

And, I always thought P's reference to "Negroes from Brooklyn" playing the bass "pretty good," was a nod to Marcus.

I'm pretty sure M intimidates him. He's no slouch, in the studio or live.

This is great. I didn’t know much about him until I heard the music from Passenger 57 and have been hooked ever since.

Wrong bass player. That's Stanley Clarke. Marcus did scores for BOOMERANG, LOWDOWN DIRTY SHANE, and SIESTA soundtracks plus many more. Also add the EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS score to his creditd

Thanks PFunk. Major faux pas. It was the Love Jones sdtk but I got Stanley on my mind from his new album.
