In a radio interview last Friday on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show, Janet explained her reasons why she did not go on tour this year as she had previously announced.

She stated, "I was supposed to go on tour with the last album and what had happened, which most fans don't know, is that I got with the new label and they asked me if I would be willing to consider not going on tour and going back in the studio and doing a new album and then revisiting going on tour. So I said, 'OK,' and stopped doing the rehearsals, which is what I was doing while I was filming 'Why Did I Get Married?'"

I find all the Janet bashing on this site hilarious. I am very sure, most of the bashers were bumping to her music at one time or another. If she doesn't make another hit album again, her contributions are set in stone. Give the chick a break. She seems happy where she is in life, she is in love, and music may not be her top priority at the moment. Good for her.

Yes, I agree with that, even though someone in another thread talked me down saying that she needs a hit to tour! I don't agree with that!

Either way... normally she only does a tour every 3 or 4 years! So with switching the label it makes sense for the label to insist on her going on tour once the new album is done, so they can cash in as well!

If Janet would have went on tour this year it probably would have lasted until early to mid next year, depending on where she tours, so there wouldn't be another album before middle to late 2009! And I doubt that she would want to go on tour again, just a little over a year after she's been on tour last... so it makes sense to postpone the tour by a year, release the new album in early to mid '08 and then go on tour with a hopefully successful new album!

First, some question and want to know why she didn't tour and when she explains why some will say Bullshit! Reguardless of what she says, folks will believe what they want to believe. I don't know why she bothered saying anything in the first place. It's not like some appreciate her going into detail about what's a mystery to some. In the end allot of us are grown and will believe whatever the hell we want to believe reguardless.
