DawnD said: I love YOU ARE THE WORDS, YOU ARE THE MUSIC. To me, WE ARE THE WORLD sounds similar. TAVARES made YOU ARE THE WORDS...first, though.
You're referring to their 1983 single "Words and Music" and you're right....when I first heard the chorus of "We Are The World",I instanly remembered the Tavares song! Is that where Michael and Lionel got the inspiration from? ![]()

"Bad Times" ![]() you know what? you are right. I have a nice jazz version of this song. It also reminds me of a couple of songs from some doo wop groups from back then. nipsy

Hey SoulAlive, since you own all their records, any recommendations?
I love both 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel' and 'More Than A Woman'. I also checked out 'Whodunit' on Youtube and loved it too. These are songs from their 'disco years', but I'm also interested in hearing their pre-disco soul material, since that's what the group was really about, right? ![]() It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
