Does this m***erf***er EVER do songs that don't sound like something else? I'm calling the music cops the next time I hear him biting somebody else's song! He has to be stopped. 
"I'll be waiting" sounds pretty good - except for the drums. I'll stick to Seal's "Bring It On", though. | |

They sound OK. I like I'll be waiting when the strings come in, up to that point I was thinking this is really boring plodding crap.
Bring It on is the staple simple Lenny rocker, it's alright but it's hardly earth shattering. | |

I like Lenny. Let Love Rule thru Circus great music. 5 was OK. The last few albums, I dunno, not very memorable. And has he ever really been "earth shattering"?
That said, I like the two new songs. 
Bring it On could've come from Circus. I'll Be Waiting standard Lenny balladry. Strings add a nice touch. As long as he's not yelling about being the "minister of rock'n'roll" or crying about not wanting to be a star, the new album might be aiight. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way. | |

The song Be from his debut album was decent. Caught him at his 1st gig in DC in the 80s and at Paisley. Are You Gonna Go My Way sounded just like my name is Prince but the vid and marketing was undeniable and its still a great song. I gotta listen to his new stuff again. | |

I've always liked Lenny's ear for decent sounds. He knows how an electric guitar and drums should sound. Also the bass on his stuff always sounds like a proper stringed instrument, not just some suffocated element that thickens up the mix via some pseudo-acoustic trick. And you can count on the pianos on a Lenny Kravitz ballad being properly recorded in a lively sounding room, instead of some boring digital reverberation unit.
The guy might get hate for a whole bunch of reasons, but Lenny understands the essence of classic rock instrumentation. | |

His punk/fine ass is good live, I'd like to see his show again. He needs to tour.
Not gonna listen to the snippets, I'll wait for the album - if it's more than 2 or 3 songs deep (unlike that damn "Lenny album with ONE decent song ) I'll actually BUY it I still like Lenny but he gets real corny & boring at times. Post "5" he just lost it, but I ended up appreciating a handful of songs from "Baptism" so I'm just hoping he won't fall back into "Lenny" territory.

I love the funkiness of that lp. My fav where Live, Black Velveteen, Little Girls Eyes (favorite!), I Belong to U..and Reason (Lenny's version of Planet Earth). But the whole album I think was cool.

Circus was very spiritual and deep. He had just lost his mother and was trying to find strength and passion again.BUT I have hope..I have HOPE..and right now Lenny's the underdog and I'm rootin for him to come on back and rock our worlds! I'm loving both songs...."I'll Be Waiting" sounds like it could be a really big hit to me. Lenny's great. Yes sometimes he sounds a little too much like his musical heroes but to me his music always sound real & sincere & a lot of his songs really rock! And I think somebody mentioned this up above but I agree that Lenny really knows how to get great sounds out of the instruments... The bass always sounds great, the piano, the drums...etc. They always have a great live/warm/vintage sound that I love. From these 2 songs and the fact that the album tracklisting seems to have quite a lot of songs, this new Lenny album looks like it's gonna be a great one! | |
