Lonette McKee - Words & Music (1978) Appreciation Thread I know I'm diggin in the crates with this one, but I wanted to test the musical knowledge of some of my fellow org'ers who may be hip to this one. If you're not and you just happen to come across it, PLEASE PICK IT UP! It's an absolute gem. "Train Tracks" was minor hit in some cities, but this album never got the recognition it truly deserved. Players: Patrice Rushen: Keyboards Harvey Mason: Drums Lee Ritenour: Guitar Abraham Laborial: Bass Lonette Mckee: Piano and Vocals

It's on my list of: "I Wish they would release this on CD!"
Usually find it in the $1 bins at used record stores. I have about 5 copies (just to find the cleanest copy) and ripped them for the iPod. I knew you would like this gap!

From what I heard of her site,,,she could sing
And I could see Patrice Rushen although, its no sense co-signin' with ya'll and I haven't even heard the damn thing(which I want, RIGHT NOW ). And she did resemble Ms.Horne,,,,loved her as Sister She was the sassiest thing among that bunch [Edited 10/26/07 14:18pm]
