Look what it did for Mtume's "Juicy Fruit"

"Atomic Dog"

"More Bounce To The Ouce"

"Five Minutes Of Funk"

"Paul Revere"

"When Doves Cry"

"Kiss"

some of the greatest beats ever...they do require creativity and skill to do that. Not every1 is good at it tho'.

Not even trying to be an ass, I guess I'm really disconnected from popular music shrug I had no idea they had an "era" lol

eek

"A survey in August 2003 found the Neptunes produced almost 20% of songs played on British radio. A similar survey in the US had them at 43%.[2] This level of radio domination is unprecedented in recent years, and highlights the effect they have had on music and production development in this era."

Creating beats, you've obviously never heard many Neptunes songs. Gridin' a and Money Maker are not their only material released. They play multiple instruments and use them alot in there productions.

Check out there R&B and Rock production and not their hip-hop productions.

No but I dig the Neptunes. Obviously the Neptunes were original enough to have everyone try to eat off their style, but I don't enjoy the knock-offs.

yes it does

90% of hip hop producers DO NOT create their own beats. They sample them directly. That's what Dr Dre did on the chronic.

The neptunes are every talented and pharell has wrote some great songs

My brother said Pharelle's and the neptunes album "sucks"...

i don't understand how he can produce all those great song for britney, Jay-z and a few others.. but cant create a decent album for himself...

i know very few songs of him.. maybe like 4.. but i take No intrest in his music... at one point i remember i could tell if he was a producer of song because he uses the same sounds, instruments to produce songs

I liked a few Neptunes songs, even when I didn't want to like it lol

For example,I like that Snoop song "Beautiful" even though I'm not a huge fan of Snoop or hip-hop in general. The Neptunes come up with some cool beats from time to time.

they're really talented and don't rely on samples. My favourite neptunes tracks:

Use Your Heart-SWV
I Just Wanna Love U-Jay Z
Hella Good-No Doubt (I couldn't believe that was them, amazing!)
What It Is-Busta Rhymes
Where's the Party-Jagged Edge & Nelly
Milkshake-Kelis
Number One-Kanye West (reminds me of Blame It on the Boogie and Off the Wall material)
Peaches and Cream-112
Dance With Me-112
Green Light-Beyonce
By Your Side remix-Sade
Wait a Minute-Ray J & Lil Kim
Been So Long-Mystikal
Got Your Money-Kelis & ODB

and tons of others that seem like a blur right now, cause they disappeared after one song.

Because he makes for a better producer and hook singer than a frontman.

Some people are better at the behind the scenes part of it. They can project their ideas onto other people and their images but have trouble doing it for themselves. Timbaland is the same.

I don't know how you guys keep up w/ all that stuff lol But yea, decent track record smile

I forgot Sade put out a remix to By Your Side, also forgot that I bought it lol Dug that up - I'd like it if they hadn't put her vocal intentionally off, that shit is annoying. mad

The neptunes have used alot of real drums. Hardly anyone in rap or r 'n b can create an original rhythm.

Why does Dr Dre get so much respect then? All he does is create beats; literally. He plays nothing else and doesn't write anything and the arrangements are simple.

I guess John bonham had no talent or neil peart?
