Funny that's mentioned. Watched it today for the first time. Listening to the music as I did the housework didn't seem so much like work. To think that was Shrek in his younger dayz. Disco

This should be the anthem for NYC. When ever I am in NY I hear myself naturally humming this tune. It still sounds as fresh today as it did when I first heard it in the late 70s/early 80s.

Is the movie worth checkin' out, though?

I want to see it but I'm having mixed thoughts about it.

This is one of those songs that gets played a lot on the disco station but I usually passed on. Now I love it. I just downloaded it. It's got a nice breezy sound to it. I read a review that described it as light disco. I would agree but that's not a bad thing, though. It's not aggressive, really...just smooth.

Great song. I'm so glad they played the movie last Saturday. I had just gotten through recording "Soul Train" and was getting ready to label the DVD when I saw the beginning of "54" coming on. I went running to get another blank DVD. By the time it got through loading, I started my recording just in time.

I bought the VHS tape when it came out. When I got a DVD recorder, the damn tape had copyguard on it so I wasn't able to record it onto DVD. It was great to finally have it on DVD but I would have preferred to have the original version with all the cussing.

This movie is a favorite of mine.Back in 1998 when it was released,I saw it a couple of times in the theatre.I now own the DVD.What's interesting to me is....I read an article on this film,and apparently there were alot of problems during filming.The director was constantly at odds with the movie studio and a TON of scenes had to be cut (against his wishes).I've heard about some of the deleted scenes and let's just say that,the movie would have been even more freakier if those scenes were left intact Hopefully,one day there will be a Deluxe DVD that contains the film with those scenes,lol.Oh yeah---be sure to pick up the soundtrack (both volumes).If you're a 70s disco fan,it's a must-have.
