floetcist said: JJ's people had more than one press release that came out before the Super Bowl was even over which said it was a wardrobe malfunction and that JT was supposed to pull the flap and revealed a bra. which A) places the blame SQUARELY on JT and B) was a GIGANTIC LIE. so it was JJ that threw JT under the bus, and not the other way around. JT did the SMART thing (obviously) and just steered clear of the whole mess. God I can't believe how backwards you got everything here. It was JUSTIN who said it was a wardrobe malfunction. HE had blamed everything on Janet, not the other way around. You need to stop working it, putting it down, flip it and reversing it. lol [Edited 10/29/07 14:14pm] Tell it! | |

I'm not the one arguing here. You got shitted on by about a million people in this thread yet you keep going with your one-man-army JT fanboy crap. Take it to the N Sync forums brah, this is a forum for a REAL musician. Pointless and lame? I guess so, but you're the one with more posts in this thread than anyone else. Here's a tip - you don't need to defend Justin so much. It comes off as seriously fanatical. Like I said, don't talk about things you don't know. So you work for Virgin, eh? What's your position? Let me know, I'll see if my A&R guy knows you. Bust me on stuff? Seriously, kiddo, you're making me laugh now. Ease up. It is a good thing that you're not around much. Good for you though, it doesn't make an iota of difference to me. Maybe you can learn some life skills out in the big bad world. Maybe you can understand that most people over the age of 15 can see Justin Timberlake as the shallow, emulative, unoriginal weak cookie cutter pop star that he is. If you possess the skills to intelligently debate real funk and soul music without passionately defending your butt-buddy, then I will also be here. Now dust that off ya shoulders. Keep bustin. |

you seem to be under the impression that i care what you or anyone else in here thinks about me. obviously, i don't otherwise i wouldn't have taken the ridiculously unpopular position that i have in here. for the most part i lurk, because i find the majority of the topics in here too ludicrous for me to even comment on. i just finally got fed up with the millionth "we hate Justin Timberfake" thread in here and decided i needed to vent a little bit. you want to label me an N-Sync fan as an insult. ouch. well, not really. to be honest i wasn't an N-Sync fan at all. i do like me those 2 JT records, though. which i've stated more than once, and obviously am not embarassed to say. and if this was a "forum for REAL musicians", i doubt that there'd be much more than 100 or so of us that would even be here. (and i'm guessing you might not be one of them) but that's neither here nor there. again, for the reading impaired, you don't like JT's music, that's great. there's a ton of stuff out there that i think is uber-crap. but i'm not 12. it's not because someone else doesn't like it or i think their name is dumb, or that they don't look like "a popstar", it's because i've listened to and decided that i don't like what i'm hearing. it's what music people do. Here's a tip - you don't need to defend Justin so much. It comes off as seriously fanatical.
says you. again, some of ya'll can label me as the biggest JT fanboy that ever lived, i don't care. i'm not. i just think it's stupid to diss an artist, not because you don't like their art, but because someone else that YOU like doesn't like them. that's retarted to me. i think i've been pretty clear on that point. Like I said, don't talk about things you don't know. So you work for Virgin, eh? What's your position? Let me know, I'll see if my A&R guy knows you.
hee hee. trust me, "your A&R guy" doesn't know me. and i never said i worked for Virgin (partly because there is no "Virgin" anymore). i don't work for the Capitol Music Group (the proper term). i work for EMI. if you really care what my title is, it's only one click away and really not that hard to find. that's kind of the point. those of us that do these things? that have record deals, that work in the industry, that travel the world, DON'T BRAG ABOUT IT ON THE INTERNET TO SCORE FRIENDS/GIRLS/BOYS/WHATEVER. i'm not on every thread talking about which artists i've worked with, who i've played/sung with, who i know, or anything like that. because i don't have to. i'm not here to impress people that i don't know. i'm here because i'm A) a lifelong Prince fan (not fam or a kool-aid kid by any stretch) and B) because i get bored from time to time. but don't worry, my little time in the sun here (at least on this thread) is setting. i'm like the little cat that was playing with the string that someone was dangling, but just dropped it on the floor. bored now. (yawn) whatever. again, if some of you want to take the "Justin Timberlake was in N'Sync so therefore all he'll ever be is some cookie cutter popstar" hardline, that's fine. that was my opinion BEFORE i listened to his first cd. but i listened and i liked. simple. and you don't have to worry about my life skills there, son. it's all good with me. If you possess the skills to intelligently debate real funk and soul music without passionately defending your butt-buddy, then I will also be here. Now dust that off ya shoulders.
man. did you just go to the 8th grade "homosexual" joke? really? and you don't have to worry about my life skills there, son. it's all good with me. Justin being in NSync has nothing to do with my opinion of him as a cookie cutter pop star. His solo work more than matches that description. ButterscotchPimp said: man. did you just go to the 8th grade "homosexual" joke? really? Now I'm convinced you know what you are talking about, since the "repeated name and I'll appear" shtick comes from the movie CANDYMAN, except anyone who actually bothered to watch the movie knows that you have to say his name FIVE times. Real smart. Guess that's what I can expect from a Timberlake fan. |

ButterscotchPimp said: Well, let's see. If i were going to pull a "you" i guess i'd feel all proud of myself for pointing out that you meant to write "hole" instead of "whole"
Big difference, son. I pointed out your spelling mistake only because the word in question ("retarded") was a direct insult to me and others, which you typed in CAPITAL LETTERS and devoted a whole line to in order to give it extra emphasis. The fact that the word was accusing others of low brain power was kind of weakened by the fact that you couldn't even spell the word right. That was the point. This point seemed so obvious that I didn't think it needed to be explained. Silly me. I forgot who I was talking to. Working with Pharrell wasn't "designed to buy some cool". That was working with who was the most popular producers at the moment. Which with pop artists, you have to do. There's a reason why artists like JT, Britney, Nelly Furtado, Kelis, etc etc etc line up to work with the Neptunes and Timbaland. It gets you played on the radio. It's a part of the industry that i don't agree with. I hate what today's radio is.
Yes, cookie cutter artists like Justin work with popular producers, and in this case the popular producers had a cool, urban sound. Problem with JT is he is the exact opposite of cool and urban. He is a Dork. Always has been, always will be, and everytime you see him perform or hear his competent, but soulless vocals you're reminded of that. That's the problem. The beats flatter him. Lyrics like "I'm bringing sexy back" do the same thing, since this dude is not sexy. Some people are believable doing that routine and others are not. You really don't like to read, do ya? I don't know how many ways i can type "PLEASE POINT OUT WHERE I SPECIFICALLY LUMPED YOU IN WITH JANET FANS" and then you go right back to "blah blah blah i said if you've been on this website for more than a month blah blah blah". .
LOL!! You're accusing me of not reading and yet you've completely misread the quote you're responding to. The quote you're responding to is dealing with your false claim that I called you a newcomer. I've already explained how your poor communication skills meant you gave the impression of lumping me in with Janet fans. You obviously didn't read that paragraph since you're basically asking me to repeat it. It's worth pointing out that you also gave Militant the same impression in your exchange with him. Surely that should tell you something. Look, i am making assumptions but they're based SOLELY on your posts on this topic. So if you sound like one of the kool-aid kids, that's where it's coming from. Aight?
The first few words in bold basically tell the whole story and everything else is bullshit you can't back up. You said it yourself. You're "making assumptions". You say they're based on my posts. Back that up. Show me where I even MENTIONED Prince in this thread. What's that you say? You can't do it? Well, of course you can't do it son, cos that shit was floating on water from the moment you dreamed it up. Oh, and the bathroom comment? Cute. Considering it took you all day to come up with it,
Nope. Toilet cleaning was the first image that came to mind when you said you worked for a record company. Considering how much time you've spent on this thread I can only assume business must be a little slow at the moment, but don't worry, son. Things will pick up.
