I'd like to know what songs you think are "filler" on that album lol To me,that album is filler-free.Every song is top notch. The hit singles were "Brick House" and "Easy",but I think several other songs were just as strong ("Zoom","Funky Situation","Funny Feeling").

'Hot On The Tracks' is my second favorite Commodores album, but I think it loses steam after "Come Inside".The last three songs aren't that great.

Filler-ish! lol
Anyways, the album has a couple of killer cuts, namely Zoom, Easy & Brick House.
Squeeze The Fruit & Funny Feelings are strong cuts.
Heaven Knows & Patch It Up are kinda... boring and so is Won't You Come Dance With Me.

Agree nod

With the exception of Won't You Come Dance With Me

Won't You Come Dance with me is kinda a, well, run-of-the-mill uptempo cut. There's really nothing special about it. I truly wish that cut would grow on me, but thus far it hasn't happened. I mean I can listen to the song, but it doesn't have the *it* factor, that some of their other stuff has, e.g. Brick House, Too Hot Ta Trot, Slippery When Wet, I'm Ready & Machine Gun.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

This how the album should've been in this order

Side 1

Won't You Come Dance With Me

Zoom

BrickHouse (The extended version)

Side 2

Easy

Funny Feelings

Too Hot To Trot

That would've been explosive music

The rest like you said, were just fillers..

Exchange Won't You Come Dance With Me to Squeeze The Fruit and the album would be smokin' lol

Great Band. They had a blend of Pop, Funk, Jazz, Gospel and even Country. There's no one like them

Speaking of Commodores, I thought the next funk band to wear the Motown label was Ozone but after the Send It, and Lil Suzy albums the changed directions...bad directions.. around the period when labels were downsizing due to production cost. Heres a video link of the history of the band http://kachingrecords.com...eVideo.htm

I remember the last commodores show i saw with lionel during the in the pocket album. It was a great show. Cheryl Lynn opened followed by maze and when the commodores hit the stage the crowd went crazy. They opened up with Keep on taking me higher in a cloud of smoke and the cannon crackers firing off. I have to hang on to that memory because these days lionel richie is sir nose d void of funk.

The whole album is pretty boring except for 'Lady' and 'Lucy'. I gotta give it a few more spins and see if any of the other tracks grow on me.

Midnight Magic is probably the only Commodores album that you can play all the way through music

They have their moments on the other albums...

I like keep on taking me higher, lady, and saturday night.
The in the pocket album was probably right along with natural high as far
as being the weakest commodores w lionel richie albums.

They had their moments on all of their albums, but none of them just weren't great as a whole.

Midnight Magic came close..

I have to disagree. I thought caught in the act, movin on, hot on the tracks, and their self titled album were all gems.
