And that's exactly why I don't envy their positions and will never likely invest my hard-earned cash in music or movies (or any art form for that matter).

That which can more accurately be placed inside a mathematical formula because it's sounds pretty much like everything else that's currently making money, is where the conservative mindset is birthed.

And it works, because these mostly non-music listeners know how to capitalize on a splintered market that rarely embraces greatness on more than a cult level.

It's mostly about the short-term dollar. Who cares if a lot of what you green lit 10 or 20 years ago is still selling and being praised, it's probably what'll get you fired.

HUGE Zappa fan here - Frank kept shit real. He and Prince were definitely on the same page regarding ownership of their music. "Watermelons in Easter Hay" my favorite cut. Broke my heart when he lost his battle with cancer, couldn't even listen to his music for years. But I'm back on it now. RIP Frank Zappa.

One of the few Rock musicians (based on his orchestral compositions it's kind of unfair to label him that) that actually have something interesting to say.
