Don´t forget Scientific Love by Midnight Star, and Operator.
Curious has been mentioned already...cool. The Whispers were tight ! My early teenage years. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

ALL the artists from SOLAR was the shit.
Along with the songs you mentioned, I also dig: MIDNIGHT STAR: "Snake in the Grass" "Slow Jams" "Curious" "Operator" "Freakazoid" "Headlines" WHISPERS: "And the Beat Goes On" "It's a Love Thing" "Just Keep On Lovin' Me" "Rocksteady" "It Gets Better With Time" DYNASTY: "I Don't Wanna Be a Freak, But I Can't Help Myself" "I've Just Begun to Love You" Everything SHALAMAR put out is A++++! ("The Second Time Around", "Take That to the Bank", "Make That Move", "This is For the Lover in You", "Night to Remember", etc.) LAKESIDE: "Shot of Love" "From 9 Until" "It's All the Way Live" "Givin' It To Love" "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" "Say Yes" "Fantastic Voyage" "Real Love" "Outrageous" "Raid" "Your Wish is My Command" "Pull My Strings" --- To put it shortly, SOLAR was the most important urban record label of the late 1970s and 1980s. Midnight Starr "Wet My Whistle" // "Midas Touch" The Whispers "Innocent" Innocent wasn't on SOLAR. Innocent was released by Capitol Records (I think SOLAR had folded by then). **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Shalamar - I Can Make You Feel Good & In the Socket I thought I was the only one that LOVED "Playmates". It never gets mentioned, but it is my favorite track from them. When "No Parking" was out, it got a hell of a lot of airplay in Dallas. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Lakeside won the battle of the Solar acts on that one! Lakeside always wins the battle. I remember one of the members of Lakeside doing an interview and talking about how worn out they were after a concert because, not only did they have to do their own show, but they had also had to play the music behind Shalamar and The Whispers also. Andy is a four letter word.
