Mariah's LP Re-Scheduled For A February Release. .
Screw you. -- Mariah Carey has postponed release of her new album, previously scheduled for December 4th, until next February. At that rate the album, a follow up to "The Emancipation of Mimi," will be bumping right into a new CD from Madonna. At the same time, Janet Jackson - now recording for Island/Def Jam, home of Mariah-may have her new release ready too. Get set for Diva Logjam. And to make matters even more interesting, Janet's boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri, is the producer working with Randy Jackson and others on Mariah's CD. Dupri brought Jackson over to Island/Def Jam with him from Virgin Records, now lost somewhere in the EMI Music shuffle. Source: Fox News | |

Maybe they want Soul Odyssey--that's what I'm calling it until the official title is announced--to coincide with Tennessee?
It was just a few weeks ago that there was a blip about the album possibly competing with MJB and maybe there’d be hype like the Kanye/50 mess. Well i had a feeling this was coming, but technically this is still Fourth Quarter to the label, after February their year ends, so i can understand the move because there will be less of the crazy release schedule for all the labels, less for people to spend money on. and also by February, people start buying things again after spending $$$ during the holidays on gifts. And also if i remember correctly, Mariah hasnt released an album during a Holiday season, outside of collections and the xmas album, she tends to be the Spring/Summer release when schedules are pretty vacant. The MIMI dvd still is set for release in November, but it appears to be overseas only so far.
