Georgio - any relation to Prince? Hi,
reading on a Madame X thread right now, I somehow thought about this record I used to listen to sometime around 88 by a guy called Georgio. I thought this was pretty fun (but must admit I haven't listened to it in ages). Anybody else owns this and has news/opinion on it? Was there any relation to Prince / Paisley Park / MNPS sound?

He was just another second-rate Prince clone
Actually,he was almost signed to Paisley Park Records. In 1985,his demo tape made its way to Prince, and there were plans to sign him.But Giorgio insists they offered him a raw deal."He and BrownMark were gonna take all the credit for writing and producing my songs",he said."Now I understand how Prince's thing works. He finds people who will be do anything to become a star.I'm not one of those people".

Yep. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I remember. Like Terrence Trent and Ready for the World and Micki Free, he was cruising off of a Minneapolis vibe, but he was also pretty independent and free-spoken. He would talk about how Prince would never appear on stage with him because Prince wouldn't want anyone who could possibly threaten him, near him. He also said how Prince and other members of Paisley Park would claim credit for his music and how he didn't want to do that. To be honest, a lot of what he said made sense to me. It wasn't until Rave 2000, that I saw him on stage with Lenny Kravitz of all people, and sharing his stage and albums with other musicians, Clive Davis or no Clive Davis, was not something Prince would do back in the 80's. Unless they were proteges...and even then... Some people tell me I've got great legs...
