well by the time you hear it on the radio 9,877,666 times, you'll grow to love it

I really don't see anything wrong with the new single. It is a change from what she was doing in the past. It seems to me that there are some people on the Org, who love to knock certain singers just because their business is not all out on the front page. It's a shame.... People are always talking about how bad the state of music is...Then you have an artist like Alicia, who has studied her craft and people are still complaining. I wonder what would people have to say if she came out, shaking her ass to a pre-recorded track? "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Boring,,,,,thats what she takes to another level IMO. That was six years ago. I can't believe that people still associate Alicia with Clive. I know she's still on his label, but I would think she's able to stand or be viewed alone now. I personally think the new album will be great.Alicia may not be there yet, but I think she strives to be there, so I'm looking forward to it. So would I, but the truth is she and EVERYBODY else in that company is a puppet who let themselves be molded, packaged and redesigned.

I think most artists are puppets. I guess your not looking forward to Whitney's return since she's a part of that "company" huh? Studiotraffic-One of the fastest ways to get payed on the net!

I always thought she was medicore though I ended up buying her albums and enjoyed singing her songs and her talent, even though she was overrated as a piano player.
This song is really shitty though, I can't stand it. Anyone could have sung it and it sounds so elementary.

Though those were nice songs, she let her influences overtake her sound. She's like another lenny kravitz in that sense if you ask me

What are you babbling on about? No-one's talking about "Alicia's business" except you. We're talking about her rehashed, over-rated music. And believe me, the last thing I want to see is Alicia booty-shaking since that girl has got to be the worst dancer in the history of R&B. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Okay, everbody here hates the talentless pop-tarts that come out these days, and complain that there should be more MUSICIANS, but then you all hate artists like Alicia Keys too.
Granted, she's no Gladys Knight, she's still pretty good and she obviously works hard rather than just relying on good looks and heavy production.. I mean, c'mon some of you guys really need tto get off your soapboxes Just because a musiician has achieved mainstream popularity does not make them instant crap! If you will, so will I

Well, that's ok to see her as more of a poser. I'm actually one of Alicia's biggest fans, and not because of what she's done, but because of what I personally think she's capable of.
I found this video last night of her on the LFT. I've been scared to see her in concert, but it looks like she puts on a really good show. http://www.youtube.com/wa...haYJodPJXg Studiotraffic-One of the fastest ways to get payed on the net!

She has no momentum. Look at any artist who evolved to greatness and you can see the steady climb. Think Stevie, Prince or James Brown. Alicia, on the other hand, came out at one level, and if anything, has fallen off since then. The reason for this is because she never had that quality of character which unites great artists. Great artists have to have a slightly different view of the world. Alicia does not have that, as I've been saying since day one. She's too ordinary a person. What's more she's also far too pleased with herself to ever really stretch and grow. She believes she's already earned her place alongside the greats, but the real greats were never satisfied. Well, you only have to look at Alicia for a few seconds to know that she is a lot more than satisfied with herself. She's thrilled with herself and thinks the world is too. You're right, she's a poser. The problem is she doesn't know it. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Exactly Alicia has just started out and theres so much more to come from her, i dont understand riding people like Legend,Keys,Stone etc... who obviously have the talent, sure they are heavy influenced and it comes through their music alot, but would you rather Alicia Keys singing tracks like mainstream RB acts like J Holiday and other one-off ringtone singers? I think the main problem is no one lets anyone grow anymore, whether its people like us or labels, we are told from day one How great someone is, or we make judgements on chart entries and first week numbers. Doesnt anyone notice how the industry now is about HOW TO FAIL, think about it, an album debuts and is gone in about 3 weeks and because of that labels dont promote, video stations dont exist, and radio, well, if you pay you get played. Basic point is no of these artists like Alicia,Legend,Stone,Van Hunt walk around saying they are gods (like some people) the acclaim they are given is by the media, but just ignore it, and listen to their work NOT THE HYPE. THANK YOU! I get tired of people expecting some of these new musicians to be demi-gods of music or something I'm just happy that the trend of new artists writing their lyrics, and playing instruments seems to be catching on! If you will, so will I

But why are we throwing her in with Stevie,James or Prince, is she? I have never heard her say she deserves that place, maybe a reason she feels confident is there really isnt a competition for her. I mean in Prince's days and Stevie's and James there was competition left and right for all of them, and even with Rock acts like Elton John, i mean he had to do 3 albums a year early on to keep up with the competition from Billy Joel alone. But nowadays there isnt competition and maybe this is why we have over-confidence in acts, and the reason for NO COMPETITION blame the labels, they choose who to put forward and who to keep silent and hidden. I never liked "No One". I think it is a very weak first single...especially compared to her other first singles.
She usually has some good album trax, but "No One" is horrible IMO. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Who said she was great, or phenomenal? She's not a Stevie, or Prince, or Aretha... but she's a good female musician, who actually has some talent and is putting out good music
Everybody sets the bar so high these days, where you're either placed in a category with a legend like James Brown or you're cast away to the shallow end of the pool with Cassie (no offense lastdecember ) If you will, so will I
