Who like Rick Astley?

i always wished he blew up more than he did. I kinda think his voice was ahead of the early 90's...he would be putting blue eye'd soul cats these days up for their money...hoever I never heard him really hit a high vocal

Oh!! Yeah.

I really like him.
I got his Greatest Hits CD and that's all I need.

Love his voice, he co-writes some of his work... and his music has that cool 80's vibe. cool

That's a nice pic of him there.

He had some good dance songs. "Never Gonna Give U Up" was my jam. I also liked "It Would Take A Strong Strong Man".

together forever was on the radio the other day and I almost thought it was never gonna give you up. You might as well become a britney spears fanatic if you like rick astley, or anyone who puts out songs that sound like one another

U gotta point there.
Those 2 songs, I get so easily confused cuz they're written by the same group of people and sound so alike.

Now that u mention that, I thought that the BSB's first 2 singles sounded alike. For some reason, I got "Quit Playin' Games with my heart" and "As long as you love me" mixed up a lot in the beginning.

As for Rick, those are the only two songs that sound THAT similar to one another. His 80's stuff around that time had that same kind of vibe to it. I also like "She wants to Dance with me" and a couple of others. I'll have to listen thru my CD to remember their names, haha.

I think his greatest hits CD, that I have, has 12 songs... and I like the following:

Never Gonna Give you Up
Together Forever
She wants to dance with me
My arms keep missing you
Just good friends
Hopelessly Falling in Love with You
Givin' up on Love
Set You Free

sure, they do kinda sound alike... but I dont care bout that.
He's got such a unique voice... and I dig guys with unique voices cool

wave I love me some Rick Astley, especially when I've been drinking. He's one of my favorites to sing. Mtv used to have a show called the 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour. There was a comic who was asking the crowd if they liked Rick. He then started to sing "Never Gonna Give You Up" but instead of saying "never gonna run around and desert you, he said "big, black voice in the body of Howdy Doody." I think that's a fairly accurate description.

Here's the infamous Rick Astley cover version of Kylie Minogue's I Should Be So Lucky, which was created/remix using either Acid Pro or Audacity to lower the pitch of Kylie herself:

I read about that on Wikipedia, too, which cleared up the Rick Roll'd thing. Wow. That's eerie. It's actually Kylie?

nod Correct. It's still the Kylie original. But it takes a audio editing software to lower the pitch, which also plays the track in a different key as well.

I remember when Rick was on the Arsenio Hall show back in the day. After his performance, Sinbad told Arsenio " He Is The Most Un-Soul looking Cat Ive Ever Seen That Can Sing Like That.

One guy on Youtube (who was Rick Roll'd, probably) said he couldn't believe it was a him and someone had to tell him to look for a live performance. It was kind of surprising back in the day.

How is his new stuff? Any good?
