Did you know? Amy Winehouse's album Back To Black (2006) Six of the album's eleven tracks feature various members of the Dap-Kings with two notable hits from the album, Rehab and You Know I'm No Good, extensively featuring the Dap-Kings. The Dap-Kings then became the backing band used on Amy Winehouse's first U.S. tour.

Check this out if you like soul music and if they come to your town, it's a must see soul review style show. As close to the real thing as anybody is going to get in 2007!

The record label, Dap king records is pretty solid over all. The Budos band is just percussion and horns with an African vibe, really cool.

She does get to the other side of the pond so watch for her, the live shows are AMAZING. She's coming through my town in a couple weeks and I'm just trying to clue people in to this stuff.

First time I heard the Dap Kings I thought it was actually The Daps - the badass band that backed James Brown on I Can't Stand Myself When You Touch Me and Licking Stick, Licking Stick.

They got their thing down. I'll be listening for more.

I've been hearing great things about them. I really need to check this out. Thanks for the reminder.
