Miss You (Extended Mix) and Shattered are my jump offs. Beast of Burden is also good. Emotional Rescue seems like outtakes when you compare it to this album. Emotional Rescue, the song, is also a mind numbing, brainwash type song. headache

Black girls just wanna get....

P said "Miss You" is his favorite tune and he wished he had wrote it...
..and the song "Emotional Rescue" is cool too. They received a lot of airplay on the R&B stations back then with those cuts.

I think that Emotional Rescue and Tattoo You (the next album) contained a great deal of outtakes from some of these earlier sessions. I know that Waiting For A Friend was recorded years earlier because it contained their former guitarist on it.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I agree Soul..The Stones in the 70's were doing it. The drugs, the women, Studio 54,..they totally tapped into that and it came out in their music. "Hot Stuff" is funky jam too.
