I JUST WATCHED WHY DID I GET MARRIED I was able to get my hands on a great screener's copy (meant for reviewers). This is a must see for anyone no matter of race or sexuality. There were times when it seems my own relationship issues were on the movie screen. Janet Jackson was good (yes, I am a big fan), but the one who surprised and blew me away was Jill Scott. I never knew she was such a good actress. I must say (no homo) that Jill Scott is a gorgeous, sexy absolutely beautiful woman. Ps: Her new CD is great. Seriously the movie was a breath of fresh air as far as black films. Yup! Tyler did a great job, it's his best movie yet IMO. The entire cast (especially Jill Scott & Tasha Smith) was great also. This is one of the best romantic comedies I've seen in a while. I'm planning on seeing it again later in the week. There's alot of buzz going around for this flick.
I'm going to try to catch it. Interestingly enough...Tyler was on the Steve Harvey (radio) Morning Show on Friday...and they asked the listeners to MAKE SURE that the movie tickets that they GET, have the correct movie printed on them. Seems that a few "black" films get screwed from ratings & royalties by having other films credited for the purchase. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I was really excited to see that the movie came in #1. (Go, Tyler!) I went to see it Friday as well (and took my mom who LOVES Tyler) and really enjoyed it. Michael Jai White's facial expressions were too funny. Tasha Smith was so good and Jill Scott was just a major surprise. She was wonderful and showed skills I just didn't know she had. I thought the Richard T Jones character was a little over the top with the nastiness toward Jilly's character, but, overall, I was really pleased with the film and I'm glad I helped that #1 count! Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

I can't wait to see this . But you know, sometimes the characters in Tyler Perry films are completely "wig/weave challenged" Did you see how messed up Kimberly Elise's wigs were in "Diary of a Mad Black Woman"? As cute as she is and they had her hair looking whacked out... . They also gave braids to Shemar Moore that looked crazy as hell ...oh..., but lets not forget "Madea's Family Reunion" and Boris Kodjoe's jacked up fake afro, they didn't even line his forehead up right . Everytime I see that I'm just thinking, 'all the damn "hair technicians" running around Atlanta, everybody and their mama looking like they just stepped out of Essence Magazine there, and THIS is the best y'all could do for these charcters????' Sometimes you have to leave that Hollywood shit alone and dig into resources that'll get the damn job done ---- as in, er, um---flea market beauticians, anyone??? .

This is definitely a must see movie right now. I knew I wanted to see, but was willing to wait. My friend called Saturday and said let's go, and it's worth the cost. The dinner scene was a major classic moment. Everybody gasped at that unveiling of secret. I love the sherriff, I want him. There needs to be more of him in the world. There were a couple of mentions of Jill's wig, which would explain why my eyes were fixated on her hair everytime she came onscreen. That was a bad choice. I was finally relieved when she let her emotions out. I know I could be passive, but dang she had to do something. Lots of the performances were pleasant surprises. Just go see it if you haven't. That would be fabulous if it could be #1 again next week. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Instead of being immortalized on film with those bad wigs, maybe the actors should come to the set with their own stylist. I wouldn’t trust a Perry production otherwise. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
