What is the Kirk Johnson Story?

I know he was one of the backup dancers at one point, and may have had something further to do with the choreography down the line. And later, I understand he went on to produce some stuff with Prince and other artists (like his Fonky Baldheads).

I am wondering what ever became of him, because to tell the truth, I actually thought the brother was skilled and very talented. Not hearing about him recently, I tried to Google him to see what he was up to these days, and maybe catch up on some new music that I may not have heard (from someone I felt was competent at producing it).

However, what I found was very little . He seems to have Kitchen Records and a personal training business (Hip Fit) going on. But it just seemed to me that he should have been doing more (I guess easy to say from my perspective; being on the outside looking in). Nevertheless, for someone that had worked so closely with someone like Prince, I was disappointed with what I found.

For starters, I was surprised that his website (Kirk's Site) was so poorly put together, and there was no easy, or secure, way to purchase what music he did have on line.

I know many people were dissing him heavily in years past, and I never really caught on to what that was about either. I thought it would be worthwhile to ask The Org to enlighten me by giving me a brief rundown on what is generally believed to be Kirk Johnson’s story (as it relates to Prince).
