Do you have any artists you consider favorites, but they only have 1 or 2 albums? well, I was just wondering
Is it possible for you to consider and artist with just one album one of your all time favorite artists? If you will, so will I

This Mortal Coil - they only made 3 albums, but all 3 are amazing! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

My rules are very strict. I cannot consider an artist a favorite or myself a fan unless I have all their studio albums and try to see them live every time they play in my city. Likewise, an artist can only be considered if there are two albums worth of material released. No one-hit wonders allowed.
YES: Prince Siouxsie And The Banshees/The Creatures Tori Amos Janet Jackson NO: The Cure Björk PJ Harvey The Pipettes (not yet, but very very soon) But I like them all a lot.

Not for me, i need something to show me who the artist is and is going to be, and 1-2 albums or even 3 or 4 probably wont even do it, for me at least. This is why when i see music magazine covers called brand new bands the "Best Bands Ever" or an artist on their debut being called the new so and so, i just laugh and think lets see who you are 5 albums down the line and can you even get that far. Imogen Heap.
I first heard of her when she did that song (as Frou Frou) for the "Garden State" soundtrack ("Let Go"). That led me to Frou Frou's cd ("Details") which is pretty good. Then I got her solo album, "Speak for Yourself." It didn't hit me at first, and I put it away. Then, I read a ton of critics raving about it, so I gave it another try and it became one of my favorite albums. Then, I saw her play at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, and I was blown away. One of the best performances I've ever seen. Her songs have been in a ton of movies and t.v. shows ("Narnia," "Six Feet Under," "The O.C.") but she only has 3 albums total (including the Frou Frou one). She worked with Dave Stewart and Guy Sigsworth, too, so that also kind of led me to her. I love her. Here are a few videos from "Speak for Yourself": Headlock http://www.youtube.com/wa...KZsZkH_MJc Goodnight and Go (featuring Jeff Beck) http://www.youtube.com/wa...ed&search= And one for "Lost" fans: http://www.youtube.com/wa...The%20Area [Edited 10/15/07 17:27pm]

I wish Icould go back in time and make a list of all those over-hyped musicians and do a "Where Are They Now?" on them! If you will, so will I

Here are a few I thought of.
...The Mandala ...The Jeff Beck Group (w/Rod Stewart) ...Rhinoceros ...Johnny Winter And ...Aquarium Rescue Unit ...Lettuce ...Missing Persons ...The James Gang (w/Joe Walsh) Didn't count live releases and I stretched it to a few groups that had 3 albums (not counting EPs). tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Thank you for letting me know Yea, there is a 90s band called Quazar, but it has nothing to do with this one. This 'Quazar' is a funk band from the 70s. They released one album, 'Quazar' in 1978. It features former P-Funk members Glenn Goins and Jerome Brailey (on some of the songs). Glenn and Jerome had some financial disagreements with George Clinton and left his posse. Glenn formed Quazar with his brother Kevin. Unfortunately, Glenn passed away before the album was completed (he was only 23 years old... ). Kevin decided to go ahead and release the album anyway. The band broke up afterwards. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

And look her up on the "Rolling Stone" website. There are several videos of her performing. "Clear the Area" is especially good, and it may be the performance that made me a fan.
