They seemed to love Al Green's Let's Get Married. I LOVE THAT SONG. Old people love it too. Everytime they play that song at one of my family reunions, you should see the 60 and 70 year olds GET DOWN! **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Is it me, or was Don really staring in2 Sylvia's chest during the entire interview?
I liked all of the performances Sylvia did, but all of her songs were IDENTICAL!! **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I liked all of the performances Sylvia did, but all of her songs were IDENTICAL!! It was the formula for her at the time. Everyone dug her slow, slinky and sexy style. I actually think "Sexy Stuff" and "Sexy Mama" were related, I don't know which one was the answer track. I tend to think "Sexy Stuff" was the answer song and "Sexy Mama" was the original. Great job on the thread Timmy.
I was on a vinyl dig yesterday when it aired but I set my VCR to record it. I got home and skimmed through the tape. It looks like a decent episode. It wasn't the best 70s episode but at least it ain't the damn late 80s. It's an episode I'll keep. I'll record the tape onto DVD later and cut out the commercials. I did watch the line dance in it's entirety though which was absolutely great. Now that's dancing. There wasn't no stiff "American Bandstand" type dancing on this episode like there has been for the past few weeks. Andy is a four letter word.

I was embarrassed to watch that portion (as every other portion) during the late-'80s episodes.

Different sequencing and a rougher looking show for sure.
Sylvia's beginnings with her guitar teacher... ...the great Mickey Baker. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Sylvia's beginnings with her guitar teacher... ...the great Mickey Baker. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 Yep, they had hits like "Bewildered" and "Love is Strange". Sylvia also played guitar with Mickey too. That Sylvia has had a strange career, hasn't she? How she go from creating one of the finest early rock songs in the fifties to creating a popular label in the sixties to creating a sexy soulful style with "Pillow Talk" to creating the mainstream mantra of early hip-hop? Very strange but fulfilling career.

Git down!!! That's why I enjoy the '70s shows. By the late-'80s, most of the female dancers had no rhythm and some of the male dancers were acting like fucking clowns.

I just watched it in it's entirety as I transferred my VHS recording from yesterday onto DVD. This was a pretty decent episode. And I still can't get over that line dance. Those dancers were gettin' off. Andy is a four letter word.
