"Paul, I Think I Told You, I'm A Lover Not A Fighter" - Macca's and MJ's"The Girl Is Mine" Thread The spoken dialogue still makes me laugh after all these years... [Paul] Michael, We're Not Going To Fight About This, Okay [Michael] Paul, I Think I Told You, I'm A Lover Not A Fighter [Paul] I've Heard It All Before, Michael She Told Me That I'm Her Forever Lover, You Know, Don't You Remember [Michael] Well, After Loving Me, She Said She Couldn't Love Another [Paul] Is That What She Said [Michael] Yes, She Said It, You Keep Dreaming [Paul] I Don't Believe It

Looking back, I guess "The Girl" in the title was actually The Beatles' publishing rights, ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

I first heard the song when I was 12 and got HIStory (though I'd known of mj for almost 10 years at that point through the popular hits) and though it's cheesy, I freaking loved it, cracked up all excited, and still quote it for fun at times when me and a friend fight over a hot celeb in good fun

"I'm a lover not a fighter"
I thought that was Barbara Streisand when I first heard it way back when My Legacy

For me, the important question is -
Is it better than Paul and Stevie's 'Ebony and Ivory' ??? A tough choice, I know.

There's something about it that I do like other than the fact that Michael vocally slays Paul on the track. No offense to Macca but you know? I do love their talking bit. Actually I do rather wanna hear about two men fighting over a girl than "ebony and ivory", lol. Speaking of, you saw the parody of that song by Eddie Murphy (Stevie) & Joe Piscopo (Frank Sinatra)? That's better. "I am dark and you are light" "You are blind as a bat and I have sight"
