Musiq

Saw Musiq Wednesday night in Orlando.

Good show, but he clearly outshined his band. Sound was not balanced, with us spending the first song listening to a blaring keyboard.

But when he hit the mellow joints..ooh child! Brutha was on point! he could turn it out with just a piano and himself. The toned down songs were by far the best. Like Prince, he doesn't need a band.

Kid has much talent and is truly original.

Any Musiq fans out there?

Big fan of his Juslisten CD. For me as well, his ballads are wonderful. Moreso than the uptempo stuff.

I'm looking forward to future music from him.

I like both of his albums but I prefer "Aijuswanaseing" to "Juslisen". Just heard his performance on the new song "Break You Off" by The Roots. You should definitely check that out.
