Sheena Easton - A PRIVATE HEAVEN I loved Sheena's 1984 album - A PRIVATE HEAVEN. It was the first Sheena Easton album I bought and really turned me into a Sheena fan. This album contains the Top 10 hits "Strut" and the Prince-penned "Sugar Walls". Other stand-outs include; "Back In The City", "Hungry Eyes", "Swear", and a new, top-notch cover of Joan Armatrading's "Love And Affection".

[Edited 10/11/07 11:06am] Yeah this is my favorite album of Sheena's by far, and one of my favorite 80's albums. The album of course got alot of attention for lyrical content which is considered to be "safe" now. People were getting all crazy because she "sexed" up her image, similar to a Mariah transformation for the 80's, she went from a collared shirt in one video to a sexy mini skirt in "Strut". I remember Sheena defending herself against the "sex" backlash by saying, "im not going to apologize for being Sexy, men dont apologize, why do women have to?" so true! "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I love this album. I originally only bought it for "Strut" and "Sugar Walls," but ended up liking it a lot. Hard to Say it's Over is the power ballad to end all power ballads. I also like Hungry Eyes and Love and Affection too. The only song I really didn't care for was Swear. I thought she was trying too hard to sound like Pat Benetar here...and not doing a very good job.
