Not taking anything away from him, but these were not actual "singles", im more impressed with everyone else on the list mostly because there were actual "physical" singles that people went out and bought on top of buying the albums, airplay was a very small factor back then, in fact you couldnt even chart back then if you didnt have a an actual "single". JT didnt actually have a single from this album, and i dont believe Shania had singles for all the songs on the album. So its a good accomplishment, but i would have to give JT the old * next to his accomplishment.

"Will You Be There", "Give In To Me", "Gone Too Soon", "Liberian Girl" and "Leave Me Alone", did not make the top 40 here in the U.S. I don't think most of them even had a U.S. physical single which at the time would make them ineligible for the U.S. charts.

it almost doesnt actually, mainly because there are songs that people buy more of off the internet but they dont chart because they arent considered a current single, its like what they do with the "Catalog" album chart, their are "Catalog" albums that sell 10times more than albums on the Top 200 but they are excluded from the Top 200 chart because they are too old, this is why you dont see albums like AcDC "back in black" or Pink Floyd "dark side of the moon" on the chart anymore, not because they arent selling enough. So its impressive to get 6 off an album, but not the same as it was before, and there have been close calls to this, PCD had 5 charted top 40 singles here in the USA and 7 in the UK, and Rihanna is easily gonna get 6 off her current album, shes already at 4, and the label is planning 3-4 more.

justin is the first to go that far, while ripping off someone else's music. The songs on that album are good, but I've seen it all before

What Goes Around does have a video. MTV was gettin it's coochie moist everytime they actually played it

Yes, it's an eight-minute epic with Scarlett Johansson. Rumor is Justin cast Scarlett in the video against Cameron's wishes and then promptly did her after the shoot was over. That's why they broke up. Again, this is the rumor that was circulating, but it's the one I like to believe. razz Who knows what really happened?

What really happened is that Justin promptly went shopping with Scarlett after the shoot was over, and bought her a new pair of Manolos. Cammy was so pissed that she was no longer Justin's #1 hag, so she kicked him to the curb.

Why doesn't Justin deserve to be on the list? If his songs have attained that amount of success and popularity with the listening public...it should be fairly recognized. Justin's album has been largely popular this year....HE is very popular...it is what it is.

I agree. I'm no fan, but he obviously crafted music (with notable help, just like the Jacksons) that appeals to lots of people. And not just one song but lots of songs on the album. It's not to say it's the greatest music ever, but nice inoffensive pop.

But it's amazing how out of it I am. I've only ever heard Sexyback & his Coldplay song.

I should also mention that outside of the Innocent Man & Thriller cassettes I had in the 80's, I don't own any of those albums!

I agree.

I think Justin Timberlake is in the same boat as Janet Jackson. Reliant on others for his sound. Until he writes and produces several songs on his album all on his own, I will continue to see him in this light.

But his popularity, like Janet Jackson's during the late '80s in particular, cannot be denied.

However, unlike Thriller or Born In The USA, I do not think his album has had NEARLY the same impact on popular culture. Hence, you and others in this thread not being aware of some of his singles.

I know. I have an obsession with her. I need to stop. But it is like a drug. I need to keep mentioning her. Quite sad. But others seem to have a similar obsession with Michael Jackson, so I guess we are all in the same boat. neutral

I can do fine not mentioning any Jackson. All of them get on my nerves: Michael, Janet, Jesse, Stonewall, Andrew, Samuel (well not really him, he's the only Jackson I dig at this point lol )

You know I'm also saying this so y'all won't give me a "Samuel eek " animation, lol.

Justin is really riding hard on Prince's dick right now. First it was tracks Michael had turned down for a 'Off the Wall' vibe for his "Justified" album, now its "FutureSexy/LoveSounds", which is such a blatant rip off of LoveSexy. Have they no shame? Whats next? Is he going to be Bob Dylan now? Are people going to start calling him versatile and reinventing himself? Yeah right, 'reinventing yourself' by picking a new artist to emulate falloff

Samething for Janet. She turned down most of the tracks from The Neptunes that ended up on Britney Spears' "Britney". I love how they got all the watered down wannabe songs, lol.

Never. But at least he writes and produces several of the songs on his albums all on his own. Until Justin Timberlake does that, I will think of him as a bland and mediocre popular musician and entertainer who has sung some great songs.

There isn't anyone who has ever crafted an entire album solely by themselves.
