I've always been a Jam and Lewis fan. However, Janet needs a POP hit. I'm sure LA Reid knows what he is doing. Let's judge until we hear the final product.

I totally agree. I would like to see janet refine her sound into a mature offering. That's not to say she should abandon her uptempo records but instead of trying to gain keyshia cole and 50 cents audience she can regain her pop/r&b audience of the mid 80's to the mid 90's. I would like to see her work with babyface, shep crawford, stokley, raphael saadiq, and even rodney jerkins if he can give her that polished mature uptempo sound like he did for tamia's can't get enough. I am just not comfortable with her having j.d and neyo on as producers. I am just afraid j.d may throw some of the wack rappers or friends on the project i.e nelly. If she is gonna only use jam and lewis for a few tracks, i would like to see her bring in a couple of the producers i mentioned. Don't laugh at my funk

I like the suggestions with Stokley and Raphael Saddiq. I also would like to see Janet Jackson work with this performer/producer (particularly if he can replicate some of the chemistry he had with Luther Vandross):
In fact, Marcus Miller and Saddiq have worked together in the past (Saddiq and Miller had a duet called "Boomerang" on his "M2" album), so they could pair up again to help JJ. Stokely and his band could handle the ballads, which was Mint Condition's forte. Another suggestion would be Sweetback, Sade's backing band also known for its work with Maxwell. [Edited 10/12/07 9:23am] THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

I think LA wants Janet to achieve the type of success Mariah did with Mimi. He will have the best a&r, promotions, marketing and anything else in the business to promote this project. He will probably oversee each track (with janet) to make sure it is current and hip (yet maintaining the classic Janet feel). Now, I wouldn't b surprised if Jam and Lewis contributed a ballad or slow grind song with Janet, but that would be it. Many fans complain about Jermaine Dupri and the way he controls Janet's career, but I think L.A. Reid is even worse. He's gonna have Janet sounding like every other female R&B artist on his label, working with same tired producers. The last album did that with Cassie sound alike songs on it. It was so offensively not a Janet album and I fear the same for this one. I don't know that she needs Jimmy and Terry like she needs water but if she is going to work with people that have been influenced by her sound, it would be nice to have someone there to ground her if not producers with a totally new perspective. Don't be afraid of Europe...Don't even be afraid of New York!
