i love how he was bragging about her accomplishments...then kills it all by how they have to hustle. yeah you're so hardcore those awards don't mean shit now if they're not paying the rent. obviously using her to boost himself. anyway, i agree about down and out has been celebs getting a show.
that's the problem with egos like Dawn. be fucking humble for once!! you have all that history, all those accomplishments, and you can't find a job? there are plenty of acts that could use a backup singer. but i guess she'd rather go hungry than actually WORK. i respect that she has some kind of drive, and hope, but she needs more of a reality check than a reality show. I'll bet you BET snaps it up. They're bottom-of-the-barrel, so this is right up their alley. As for Dawn, most of you have said it already - karma's a b!tch.

OK, I only believe that she had a diva complex and was probably a primadonna bitch to work with and that was her downfall. I don't believe she was that mistreated. That said, I love this broad as she is super talented. Wish she never left EV cuz they were the damn bomb man. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

They should make a sex tape like Pam & Tommy Lee.
Humping each other while rats & roaches are scurrying around? I'd watch that! Don't these celebrity types know how to save & invest their loot? Damn.

IS DAWN ROBINSON (FORMERLY OF EN VOGUE) THE FLO BALLARD OF THIS GENERATION? Back in the day, Florence Ballard was kicked out of the Supremes and several years ago, Dawn Robinson was booted from En Vogue and judging from a leaked video that was released on "You Tube," last Friday (which has been taken down), Robinson has hit rock bottom-financially, just like Florence Ballard. The video was a trailer that Robinson and her husband (Dre Allen, last photo) are allegedly trying to pitch as a reality TV series to BET and VH-1. The video showed Dawn and Dre living among rats and roaches. Dre was also shown hawking tapes on the street for extra cash. It was always rumored that Dawn allegedly made a "set salary" of only $30,000 per year when she was a member of En Vogue despite record sales. It was also rumored that she once contemplated going to the unemployment office for benefits and when she complained about the lack of money, allegedly, she was kicked out of the group. Meanwhile, En Vogue's producers (Foster & McElroy) were allegedly driving luxury sports cars each year and living large. She then joined Lucy Pearl, reports surfaced that she was unhappy with the financial setup regarding this group and rumors of her alleged attitude problems were broadcast all over the Internet. Eventually, she would leave this group as well. BACKSTORY (DRE ALLEN) Dawn's husband Dre Allen (artist/writer) has a checkered past to say the least. Before he hit hard times, Dre was once a staff writer at LaFace and once drove a Porsche Boxster, he was also on TV, showing off a house in the Hollywood Hills which may have been leased for the shoot. Dre's past also includes a black supermodel, black actresses and video girls and unsubstantiated rumors continue to surround him regarding an alleged attempted murder from his past. Right!! No one cares that a once powerful, soulful, magnificent voice has fallen on hard times . What she needs to do, if she really wants some exposure, is record a song about Britney Spears' hardships, then she'll be back on top, in no time!

Keep in mind, the opening you read at the beginning of the thread about Dawn Robinson was her account of the En Vogue situation. Saying she got fired by some greedy producers makes her sound like a victim. Had Dawn follow the lead of Cindy, Maxine, & Terry by signing the renew contracts (featuring the conditions that were just as bad or worse than what the WB Music Group had in mind before) , she would had been just as much as a "musical slave" in terms of not having much of a say in musical directions or better payroll. Instead of everyone bashing Dawn for her decision-making skills, we should wonder why it was too easy for Cindy, Maine, & Terry to support those conditions.

And how is that decision working out for Dawn Robinson now? About the same as the one regarding Lucy Pearl? I don't know what happened w/ En Vogue but she said she thought Lucy Pearl was just a one off thing, not a real group. And she was surprised when she saw they(Saadiq and Ali Shaheed Muhammed) were continuing Lucy Pearl this time w/ Joi. They didn't even ask her if she wanted to keep it going or stay in the group or nothing.

If that is true, I don't know how Dawn Robinson came to that conclusion since she allegedly left (or got drummed out of) Lucy Pearl in the middle of promoting its second single, "Don't Mess with My Man."
