Whitney's "Saving All My Love For You" about Jermaine Jackson?? This is what someone told me:
Whitney was actually an affair of Jermaine's while he was married to Hazel. She alluded years ago that she considered the song "Saving All My Love For You" to be about she and Jermaine. And that Michael tried to 'gently break it to her about how his brother was with women', but she didn't listen at the time. Whitney may have caught another bullet in the end, but she at least dodged the bullet that was Jermaine eighty-trillion-ex-wife-and-baby-mama-having Jackson. Peep the lyrics.... A few stolen moments is all that we share You've got your family, and they need you there Though I've tried to resist, being last on your list But no other man's gonna do So I'm saving all my love for you It's not very easy, living all alone My friends try and tell me, find a man of my own But each time I try, I just break down and cry Cause I'd rather be home feeling blue So I'm saving all my love for you You used to tell me we'd run away together Love gives you the right to be free You said be patient, just wait a little longer But that's just an old fantasy Hmm. Sounds about right to me...even though she didn't pen them, she said she felt 'em Here's them together: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fwdWuYea4Oo "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Has she ever? This one definetly not. It was written by Gerry Goffin. On the other hand - the guy in the video did look A BIT like Jermaine... [Edited 10/9/07 1:36am] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

Alot of people think Whitney recorded this song first, but it was actually first recorded in 1978 by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr

She has co-written a few songs (on her albums that didn't do too well and on Bobby's "Something In Common", but other than that, she doesn't write. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The funny thing about this song was this. Whitney's version, was not the first recorded. Marilyn McCoo, from "You dont have to be a star", fame; had recorded it a few months earlier. Because Whitney was the new sensation at that time, Marilyn's version was pulled back. Marilyn has never really got over that. But, hers was the first version. I remember Marilyn performing the song on either Solid Gold or some other show in the 80s. I don't blame Marilyn for being upset about it, but Whitney sang it 10 times better than Marilyn ever could. Marilyn was not that great of a singer. She was just a pretty face (musically anyway). She did ok hosting Solid Gold, but her singing was never much to write home about. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Uhhh no. I didn't know the song was a cover. Secondly, considering they were romantically linked back then, I thought it was possibility. I'm not naive and I wasn't swallowing bullshit, ok? and you nor anyone else on this forum can call me naive because ya'll only know me from my words ONLINE, not in real life [Edited 10/9/07 9:25am] [Edited 10/9/07 9:29am] "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. Whitney got soul but I doubt that she was singing to that greasy motherfucka. You're reading too much between the lines on that.
About this song, apparently this was the song Clive Davis wanted a pure POP sound to. The original recording was, in his words and I'm not joking, "TOO R&B (in other words too black)" and that he wanted to polish it up. One of the former A&R men from Arista (a brotha) said it also soudned too much like Aretha. The song was probably a carbon copy of Marilyn McCoo's with the difference being Whitney's higher vocal range.

I'm not saying it for sure but here's a very small part from a music bio about her: http://www.tiscali.co.uk/...raphy.html Whitney's massive success meant she would spend the following years touring. In her personal life, after being romantically linked with Eddie Murphy and Jermaine Jackson, Whitney surprised her family and friends by marrying the bad-boy of R&B Bobby Brown I've heard it before but then again, I've never been a fan of either. I was simply posting something a friend told me and thought some of you would be interested. That's all "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. This is what I mean by swallowing bullshit. She never went with Jermaine or Eddie. There's no evidence she ever had any boyfriend at all before Bobby Brown. The only romance that seems to be credible before then is her alleged one with her close friend Robyn. I'm not a fan either, but even I know that. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

It was also the most persistent rumour from back then. It wasn't one of those flash-in-the-pan rumours like the Eddie thing.
